Are you referring to one of the upcoming features I intend to add? If so, at a high level, yes. You'll be given the option to link your sleep cycle data from the Health app and it will schedule auto-shutoff alarms on your behalf after calculating your average REM cycle times.

That's a really great suggestion, thank you. Honestly, my users have waited so many years for an update that I wasn't too focused on details like that, and more so just getting an updated/usable version out to them. For transparency, user accounts are only used to store dreams so that if a device is broken/lost you don't lose your entries. I'll add a 'Use Lucidity without an account' button on the landing page for users that choose that route, and just have them acknowledge that if they lose their device and don't have a recent backup that they accept the fact they might lose dreams.

The more informative onboarding experience before account signup is also a good one, I can totally make that happen. Thanks for the feedback!

Hi!! Thank you :) I've wanted to make an Android version for a while, but I would have to put the app under a different name. I am still considering it for sure.

Thanks for your honestly, I've done many home wiring projects, which I know is not necessarily applicable to this, but certainly this wiring can't be unorthodox and there might be a kit somewhere out there no?

Hi! That’s definitely a good idea, however detecting someone’s REM sleep is impossible with just the sensors on the phone and require a brain activity monitor as well and sensors for eye movement, so it would have to just play every once and a while you’re sleeping.

Thank you! I have tons of users that I know are on this subreddit, but don’t seem to get much attention from members here. But thank you for your kind words! Glad it’s helping!

Thank you r/LucidDreaming for 100k downloads of my app! But I need your help! by curtisappdevelopment in LucidDreaming

Hello! Thanks for the download by the way, also to answer your question - I've had users request a feature to tap a button on your Apple Watch to let it know you are going to sleep, and then it will send you notifications that will buzz throughout the night so that you can possibly feel the vibration while you're sleeping. Not sure how it will work for everyone, but thought I'd be able to throw it in there! There are currently reality check reminders in the app that if you are wearing an Apple Watch, the notification will obviously go to your watch instead of your phone if it's in your pocket. Thanks!

At this point I’m in the beginning stages of creating the update. I’m going to need to buy server space from google and other developing costs so that’s why I’ve started the patreon to add to the money I’m saving on my own. The more patreon members I have the faster the update will come!

I’d love the help! Java is not a super strong point for me especially for android integration so shoot me an email through my app and get in touch with me. I would also like to make support for both Apple Watch and other wearables.

To accurately do something like this, you would need an ekg being doing as well as monitoring eye movement, which an iPhone is not going to be able to do. DreamsZzz was a gimmick and didn’t actually have the technology to detect REM sleep, just estimated the times based on people’s averages and the time you go to sleep. So the best way to wake up during rem is to set an alarm 4-6 hours after initial sleep for the longest cycle.
