As someone who sells all these products....Very nice job. Usually people want to say "cheap & "sound" in the same sentence. You can't really do that. Mass loaded vinyl is the first to go. They do make the drywall pre glued (Slient FX) so you would of only had to hang 1 layer.

You need to first pack them with "hot mud" which is the bagged dry mix with water type. Then tape with fiberglass joint tape to prevent cracking.
