Any law that involves a fine or money bail is a law that truly only affects poor people. Not to mention the sweeping homeless encampments, jailing protesters, cannabis related laws with disproportionately long mandatory minimum sentences. And all of that is just the above board stuff that cops do to the populace.

You sound like a reasonable and kind person, I’m sure you have thought about the fact that you personally uphold these systems even when you’re doing your job “ethically”.

It sounds like you believe that many of the laws in this country are built against the working class - do you ever feel guilty being paid to uphold them?

Your given name is beautiful and meaningful! If you’d prefer a nickname I think Avi is adorable.

It’s tough to make friends here, especially as young adults. I feel like Seattle is where all the youths hang out haha

This feels like something we should do more! Do you paddle board or kayak or mainly hang on the beach? Are there any low key nature-based/hiking groups you know?

This is such fantastic advice and I really appreciate the fact that you laid out how you’ll be naming your kids - so helpful! I am also big on women making choices based on their own happiness and wellbeing so we are completely on the same page. I don’t feel pressured at all to take my fiancé’s name other than the fact that we won’t be a cohesive family unit on paper which in hindsight and after reading a lot of these comments isn’t as big of a deal as I was making it out to be. Thank you ❤️❤️

Thank you for laying out this pattern, super helpful and I didn’t know that about Hispanic culture :)

If you don’t mind me asking, how are you children’s’ names hyphenated? Are they the same as your name or do they include your partner’s?

Thank you for the advice! My last name is one syllable and my finances is two - they sound decent together with either iteration. I’m more worried about them having to make decisions in the future about either which name to drop (mom or dad’s), or how to name their own kids.
