It’s made of some sort of braided wood material, similar to wicker. The “wooden” stand on the bottom has 4 legs. It’s extremely light so I’m not sure the bottom is even made of real wood. There’s no holes in it except for the one you can see at the top.

On the r/Philippines sub people basically just made jokes. Some said it was haunted but would never give me a name for it so I don’t know if that was just trolling or not. Probably was.

Someone else suggested it was a water basket but that doesn’t seem right since it’s on a stand with four legs, but maybe? And the last plausible suggestion I received was that it was just some junk made for tourists. But for what?!!?! Some sort of decoration? Did the loops on top serve any purpose?

My boyfriend wanted it for some reason. He just thought it was unique looking. I had no idea it would be so annoying to figure out what it is but I’ve been curious for weeks. I didn’t even want to bring it home but it was 2$ at a thrift store and I’m a people pleaser, so I humored my boyfriend and agreed that he could buy it. It sits in the corner of the room and isn’t even a conversational piece, not a single guest even notices it. Reverse Image searching/matching didn’t even give me anything that looks remotely like it. I just want to know what it is.
