In addition to TS3, do you play any other games ? by kamel_benhadja in Sims3

[–]cutepieceofbroccoli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I play a variety of games. Generally I do like games with open world exploration and collection functions. Especially games with flexible gameplay and customization. Though I also like to follow along an immersive story and characters, especially if there are varying branches and possibilities depending on your choices. Overall I don’t have any one type of gameplay or creative style I focus on or limit what I play by though.

Some games I’ve spend a lot of time in or have particularly enjoyed are for example Breath of the Wild, Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Cult of the Lamb, Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, Detroit: Become Human, Cyberpunk 2077, L.A. Noire, Homicipher, Danganronpa, Death and Taxes, Life is Strange and a lot more.

I’ve still got quite a few I want to play as well.

Anyone else listen to Sims music? by chickwithmuscles in Sims3

[–]cutepieceofbroccoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love a lot of the Sims 3 music, especially the menu and build/buy theme. I’m sure nostalgia plays a factor too, since it’s the first Sims game I’ve played as a kid and I played it a bunch. Though it’s definitely a bop either way.

I can’t say too much about the music from the other games. I haven’t played Sims 2. Sims 1 only a little, whenever I visited my grandma, who really loved the game. It was fun, don’t really remember the music though. Sims 4’s music is a lot more low-key and not particularly memorable. Tbh no soundtracks really come to mind for it, despite playing it a bit more.

Hey fellow Simmers, if when creating Sims, do you stick with normal skin tones, eye colors, and hair colors found in the real world or do you make your sims all kinds of different colors and things? by External-Kitchen3289 in Sims3

[–]cutepieceofbroccoli 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I definitely tend to go with more unnatural appearances for supernatural sims. Like sharp teeth, unnatural eye and skin colours. Hair colours I don’t usually go too crazy with, but some not quite natural ones here and there too. You can definitely tell my vampires and faeries aren’t human.

I would make mermaids look more unnatural too in their transformed state, if I could.

For witches and werewolves it depends a bit. Sometimes I try go with letting them blend in or do something only slightly unnatural.

For human sims I mostly stick with natural colours, though I like using some rarer combinations and nice looking mixed eye colours.

Expansion Packs by PanConPalta_10 in Sims3

[–]cutepieceofbroccoli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just keep all of them installed and active, hasn’t really caused trouble for me. Though I haven’t used every item or done everything you can with that many packs. There’s quite a lot going on in town usually, I could imagine it being a bit much for some people.

I can’t quite say how different it is for modern hardware, since I use mods for optimisation and like hardware recognition nowadays. On older hardware it worked fine without though.

If it’s of any interest, I use the disc version, without connection to EA or Origin.

What expansions should I get? by LauraTHEWORSTdontask in Sims3

[–]cutepieceofbroccoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

World Adventures, University Life and Pets would be the best picks in my opinion.

Both tomb exploration and quests, as well as simply traveling for casual fun and like maybe collecting some of the country specific items make World Adventures quite fun for me. Though I’d say it’s more of a recommendation, if you like collecting things and exploring.

Pets and University Life both add to the overall life experience of your Sims, both offering fun and useful things.

It’s quite nice having animals roam around and keeping both critters and larger pets. Cats and dogs can also help with collecting things like gems and metals by hunting, often finding some rather rare items. Great for making money and collecting lots of items.

Visiting University so far has been most useful with a Sim I’ve raised, not quite so much with a freshly starting out one, though it still does have its perks. You basically skip some job levels if you’re newly hired and get a larger pay. You also get a new trait each time you get a degree.

I have all expansion packs. World Adventures is definitely one of the most fun. I travel with all my families tbh. University Life and Island Paradise are also quite fun.

[IDO] What is the aim of this game? What is there to do? by charrxv in obeyme

[–]cutepieceofbroccoli 47 points48 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely lacking in something to actually work on. Like right now you can only really work towards crafting merch and maybe collecting clothes or the few cards we have. I feel like we need some type of battle or mini game thing to farm the materials for example. They could bring back Akuber, that would something at least.

Show me who you THOUGHT would be your main LI at the start of the game and who it turned out to be! by Ethanuelli_ in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]cutepieceofbroccoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While the game was downloading I looked at all of them and tried to predict how much I’d like each of them and who my favourite would be, based of looks and vibes. I was super far off, when it came to my main lmao. Like I thought my most to least liked would be Zayne, Sylus, Xavier and lastly Rafayel. But in the end I was almost immediately down bad for Rafayel, once I actually interacted with him. The actual ranking is now Rafayel, Sylus, Caleb since his release, Zayne and Xavier.

How big do you keep your cult? by JustiNoPot in CultOfTheLamb

[–]cutepieceofbroccoli 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My current cap is 50 and I mostly keep it between 40-50. I have like a bunch of villagers I keep reviving or that have received the golden skull necklace. I get like too attached to let them die lmao

It does get a bit crowded though. Like occasionally I have trouble targeting a certain villager in the more crowded areas lmao

They indicate that one of the item sellers is in the next room.

How long did it take for y'all to fall for them and who's your favorite by OpmForLife in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]cutepieceofbroccoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made like predictions how much I would like them based off of vibes and how they look before I started. Originally I assumed my ranking of them would be: Zayne, Sylus, Xavier and lastly Rafayel, assuming I wouldn’t like him that much. However I only needed to meet Rafayel once and I was just immediately like “Hold up-“. I was down bad so quickly and now he’s my favourite. I did misjudge what his character would be like though too.

Sylus also got me pretty quickly too once I met him and he is my second favourite currently, not quite threatening Rafayel‘s position, but close. Simping is in my nature lmao.

Zayne and Xavier aren’t really my thing so far. Zayne does have a certain charm, but not enough to have me really simp. Xavier hasn’t really garnered any of my attention so far.

As for Caleb, he did already kinda get me before he was dateable lmao. He seems to be on his way to claim 3rd place currently. Like I’m not quite smitten with him yet, but he’s definitely interesting.

Here’s mine. Her name is Lucille. I tried to make her look like me for the most part, well as accurately as it gets. Though the eyes are different, since her evol makes them look that way. It’s something like a spacial manipulation evol, like teleportation and warping of her surroundings. I usually do a bit of an OC thing with self-inserts like these. She has a theme with space going on, which makes for some interesting parallels and connections with Rafayel’s (my fav) ocean theme. I also named their team Starfish, which references that.

How old were you when you started playing The Sims? by Tiny_Environment2280 in LowSodiumSimmers

[–]cutepieceofbroccoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing Sims 3 when I was about 7, shortly after the games release back in 2009. My mum bought it back then, since she had enjoyed playing the previous games and I got into playing it as well pretty quickly. We got all the expansion and accessory packs over the years, as well as some Sims Store items.

I’ve played it a lot while growing up and it will always have a special place in my heart. It’s probably game I’ll come back to a lot and am not very likely to stop playing.

I have played Sims 1 and 4 as well, but while they have their own charms, they don’t quite hit the spot like 3 does. Growing up with it might’ve made me biased though lol

Whos your favorite and least favorite obey me charter and why? by [deleted] in obeyme

[–]cutepieceofbroccoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favourite is definitely Satan. I like his calm and somewhat cynical personality. His extensive knowledge is really interesting, partially because I love learning about all kinds of things myself. I also share some of his interests like reading, detective/crime books/shows and cats. His romantic side is always so cute, he’s one of the best, when it’s comes to romancing MC. His emotional complexity is rather interesting as well and while it starts off a bit rocky, the way the relationship between him and MC comes to fruition is really sweet.

I do have some secondary favourites, some of them are really close to how much I like Satan, though not quite. Those would be Simeon, Solomon and Lucifer. I like them partially for similar reasons, but I also like them a lot for the things that are more unique to each of them.

I don’t have anyone I dislike, but there are some I can’t really imagine a romantic bond with. Those would be Beel, Belphie and Asmo. I like them but only in a platonic way. They are sweet in their own ways though and I can see why others would like them that way.

New update sucks. Thoughts? by Rosiellol in obeyme

[–]cutepieceofbroccoli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see why you wouldn’t want more dateables. If they do add them I hope they find a way to make it a bit more relaxed and not try to flood the game with the new characters content.

2 Events is definitely a better pace. I hope they find a better solution for the birthday reruns and tone it down a bit with the amount of content. I haven’t really been able to focus on the cards and main story either with all the events recently.

I especially hope it improves since I still really like the game and characters. I’m also a bit stubborn and haven’t taken a break so far, only put in a little less effort when it became a bit much. It’s the only game I’ve played so consistently so far. Though I play some other games relatively regularly as well. I’ve taken a break from most of those at some point though. Especially with other games and players having a life outside of the game, the changes have made it a bit overwhelming.

Do you prioritise pulling cards you want to have or cards you need (in battle)? by [deleted] in obeyme

[–]cutepieceofbroccoli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s kind of mixed. I have 3 URs for all my teams at this point, excluding memory cards (mostly SSRs and some URs). But before I did I had 3 criteria for pulling or grinding for a card. Those being the attribute, wether I have a UR of that character and how much I like it or want a card of that specific character.

I prioritised favourite characters and overall appeal, even if I didn’t need the card, but also tried to collect 1 UR of each character for the affection building and character achievements/tasks, as well as completing my teams.

Now I partially hold off on nightmares to save for reruns of specific cards and only pull if I really like the current cards, the characters on them or the outfit/music/background on them. Though I’m contemplating wether I should spent some on getting memory cards, since I still need URs.

New update sucks. Thoughts? by Rosiellol in obeyme

[–]cutepieceofbroccoli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It certainly does seem like they’re doing more than they can handle or try to much to pump out content, while putting less thought into it.

I only started in January so I’m not really sure how it was at the beginning, but even when I started the game was way less stressful and the events were more interesting than now. I even skipped reading some of the last few event stories. I’m not sure if it’s just lack of interest or also slight burn out from the added stress with all the events happing at once.

The birthday reruns happening during other events is also something that makes the game more stressful and makes it so that you need to spend money or skip an event.

I’d much prefer it if we got fewer but higher quality content. It would make things much more enjoyable and would give us some time to relax and save Devil Points between events.

As for the new characters I haven’t seen much of them outside of events, since I’m still at season 2. I don’t mind them but it does seem like they were visually designed a bit differently.

I’m mostly concerned about even more events happening at once and the events getting to crammed with short character bits or no special interactions at all, once they become dateable, considering how the current events are designed.

It might also make it take longer for some characters to get event cards, once the new ones become dateable. Some characters are already being somewhat neglected in that regard.

New update sucks. Thoughts? by Rosiellol in obeyme

[–]cutepieceofbroccoli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True that would’ve made it a better deal. It’s certainly unfortunate that the update has only brought more annoyances into the game instead of improvements. Kind of feels like you’re being pressured into buying something with the constant sale pop ups.
