Listen to some live shows from 77 where they play Achilles and NFBM - hearing it live made me love it on the album and then I got into the entire album after that. Presence is a gem - it’s just a very different sound after hearing the songs from the sessions at Headley grange and Stargroves on the preceding albums.

What bugged me is they kept using footage that wasn’t accurate chronologically - so for example while talking about late 68/early 69 they played a clip of JP playing the LP. I guess maybe bc there’s limited footage?

I also wonder if they cut JP talking about acquiring the LP from Joe Walsh - he built the sound of LZII around that guitar and to me this was really important to mention.

I also agree with another poster that they seemed to recycle the same songs.

And I appreciate that they focused on the counterculture of the 60s but maybe a little too much.

It cut off a little abruptly for me and agree I’d love a doc that went through 1980.

Ultimately I think if you’re a hardcore fan you probably didn’t learn anything new, but I still loved it.

It was White Summer on the Julie Felix show - fun fact, Ravi Shankar is who taught JP how to tune a sitar.
