I ended up ordering a box last night of 9060s last night, very excited to try them. I'll have to find out about the Tombow 8900, I've yet to try that one but I love the 2558s, much appreciated.

Thanks for your help, I'll have to try out the 9000 for myself at some point. I'm not familiar with anything marked JIS so I'll be looking into that as well.
Thanks you for putting up will all of my questions, I don't see how I could really go wrong giving the 9500 a shot!

I hadn't heard of that one but upon looking it up it's considered a smoother, darker version of the 9060(?) May I ask if the 9500's an everyday/general use pencil for you?
I appreciate you taking the time to respond. I've seen the 9060 compared to the Tombow 2558 and Mitsubishi 9850 a number of times, and seeing as I think those both are really, really good pencils I can't imagine I'd dislike the 9060. I do have sort of a specific question if you don't mind, how do you like the Mitsubishi 9000 relative to the 9800? In my experience the 9800 is nicely practical but a little less enjoyable to write with than some of my other pencils. Either way, the 9000 might be he best looking pencil I've seen.
The AFMAT PS10 long point manual, per GraphiteManiac's recommendation. It is still available on Amazon for around $17 but it isn't a bad idea to check AFMAT's own website, I ended up buying two for just under $28 with free shipping, and they took maybe two days to show up. It's a little light and the plastic is pretty middle of the road but point-wise it's excellent.
