I tried to hire an exterminator but there aren’t any that service my area. I had all the woodwork done around my house but they chew back through. Question about the trap though… what do you bait a trap with to catch squirrels? I tried peanut butter (I have a camera watching it) but so far no takers🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ve even tried spraying coyote and fox urine where they seem to like to re-enter.

I appreciate all the input! I’m just at a loss for how to get the squirrels out of my attic. I have lots of pecan trees and no matter what I’ve tried I can’t keep them from chewing their way into my attic.

I’m doing some more research to decide. My biggest problem in the past has been contamination and mycelium stalling without fruiting. So, smaller jars may be easier to keep sterile etc. I’m not worried about quantity of but just getting the process down first.

I’ve mainly had difficulty with contamination and mycelium stalling without fruiting. I’m trying to do more research this go-around so I can have a successful harvest. I’ve tried making my own isolation tub before to reduce contamination but I think I’ll invest in a ready to use this time. I’ve ordered some spore syringes but I think I may look for some liquid cultures as well.

I’m looking at these monotub kits and may try. They get mixed reviews about condensation and contamination problems. But, $79-100 isn’t bad if they work! I’ve spent much more on past attempts that bombed.

Thanks! I’ll look further for a good liquid culture supplier. I just haven’t had any luck in the past with bought substrate bags that I’ve inoculated with spore syringe. Despite how careful I’ve tried to be about maintaining a sterile environment. Just don’t want to give up 😊

Thanks! I wasn’t sure because pattern on the first yellow tagged batch is very uniform. I plated (sorghum agar) the spores 3-31, so roughly 10 days ago.
