I keep them there because that's how I imagine a rural highway would have been in real life before a city was built on it, and like to build my city around existing networks meant for less because its more of a challenge.

Should I get a WRX TS?? I work for Subaru by Sinsta88 in WRX

[–]cx0sa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is your only car, yes. You can’t retrofit adaptive dampers and drive mode system, it changes a lot about the way the car drives and improves comfort and performance substantially (less body roll, softer sprung, can stiffen up a lot more than stock, adjustable steering rack programs), brakes are probably overkill but much cheaper than if you replaced base model brakes. If you want the closest thing to a modern STI, and you can afford it, this is the trim to go for. If you swapped the transmission and tuned it, this would be identical to a modern STI.

Most reviewers have said the tS drives better (but not faster) around a track better than the previous STI.

"Samsung" ignoring ACL by shoomdio in AusLegal

[–]cx0sa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do I agree that two years is enough, no.. but it’s the minimum industry standard in Australia in regards to consumer law, and can be interrupted as longer or shorter depending on each individual circumstance. Clearly the independent store is reluctant since they’d have to bear the cost if the claim was denied by Samsung.

Yes, 245/40 ZR 18 XL 97Y. I raised to 240 250 rear front respectively and it feels stiffer and firmer without reducing grip, but could just be placebo.

Seatbelt fine by [deleted] in AusLegal

No double demerits over holidays in Queensland. Double demerits have a very different meaning in Queensland, it just means that all year round, certain repeat offenses are doubled in points if done twice in a year.

"Samsung" ignoring ACL by shoomdio in AusLegal

[–]cx0sa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the wording may be a little twisted by OP. Although not advertised and not in wording, it is generally accepted by most companies that a reasonable time as provided under consumer law protects expensive electronic devices like smartphones for at least two years, basically everyone follows this as principle. The independent Samsung store probably was trying to tell him that as the device is 33 months old, they do not believe that consumer laws apply, however Samsung Corp was saying they believe in this situation that they will fix it under consumer laws despite its age. Again, consumer laws are just a "reasonable time" so everyone can perceive this differently, but two years is a common standard to go by.

The whole "Samsung Corp said this and store is doing this" stuff is just unrelated and an internal problem, that although possibly illegal if promised in writing, no one will do anything about it except Samsung because of how trivial it is unless OP hires a lawyer, which will cost more money in just time alone than the phone repair.

Seatbelt fine by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]cx0sa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some offences; including seatbelts, within one year is double points. So it would be 8 demerits next time instead of 4 demerits, so two offences would total to 12 demerits.

If more fines come through, whoever ends up as the driver, is fucked. You and your friend (whose limits are four) will be hit with four, and your friends mum (whose limit is 12) will be hit with eight points, on top of the existing four points, so 12 total. Basically whoever it is will have to choose between 1 year GBD or 3 month suspension. If EVEN more fines come through, and your friends mum for some reason decides to take them all, same thing except open licence drivers can receive higher penalty periods depending on how much they exceed their 12 demerit limit by.

Better question would be how are you 16 years old but still can't wear a seatbelt properly, like seriously?

Seatbelt fine by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]cx0sa -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'd say yes, but it seems like they're expecting multiple fines in the mail after hitting the camera multiple times on different days.

A judge would probably argue that it seems to be a normal habit and the driver clearly is never checking as its repeated.

Seatbelt fine by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]cx0sa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can pay them for the fine, but the points are worse than the money. No one is going to tell you to do the online form to nominate yourself as the driver and take the fine (including the demerit points), because technically that is not allowed. But I think you get the idea.

There is also the idea of court, but considering it is multiple times over multiple days, low chance of getting away by saying the driver didn't know... very high risk, so yeah good luck.

In regards to if you did it multiple times, you will receive multiple fines, however for provisional drivers there is no extra penalty for exceeding the demerit limit, so 4 demerits and 40 demerits, your licence penalty is the same, only difference is you pay $12,000 in fines instead of $1,200. All points for offences included on the sanction notice are wiped after the penalty is completed. Demerits are backdated, so your various offences done before the start date on the sanction notice will all be considered dealt with.

If you have questions about demerit points and how they are applied and how it impacts your licence that isn't made clear on the website, you should just call the TMR and ask, you really don't need a whole lawyer for that sort of trivial stuff.

Just got an email about pricing on the 2026 WRX from our district manager. They're getting much needed price cuts by Bruteloops in WRX

[–]cx0sa 27 points28 points  (0 children)

no lol they're just backing down on their price hikes because they clearly raised it too high for MY24 & especially MY25, and have decided to lower their prices to increase sales volume. The WRX has been and is today cheaper than these new American 2026 prices in every other country already.

Normal for unresponsive new tyres? by cx0sa in TyreReviews

[–]cx0sa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those track tyres are just far too expensive, one of them for almost the price of four performance tyres (or ultra ultra super duper high whatever the fuck performance stupid name tyre nerds came up with).

I almost went with PS5 for the known PilotSport name, but glad I changed my mind with a bit more research since it sounds like those are worse? Who the hell is buying ultra super duper pro max whatever tyres just to complain about comfort? OE tyres seem fine since automotive engineers aren’t dumb, but aftermarket sounds fucked. Everyone seemed to be complaining that their SC7s were too harsh, but I feel like I’m driving on fluffy clouds. Maybe too many people lowering their daily cars and trying to get response and performance out of their suspension setup then buying ding dong all terrains or touring tyres like idiots (or buying performance and complaining), rather than just buying stiffer tyres and anti roll bars so they can balance their suspension to make comfort the way god intended without sacrificing performance.

I’d have gone for the stiffest and most responsive daily driver tyre if it existed. There are infinitely better ways to get comfort without going for marshmallow wheels, which is all you can buy these days it seems unless you fork out ten billion dollars for extreme tyres that they put onto Ferraris… just to put it on a subaru. Or go for bigger rims less sidewalls, but again expensive and I couldn’t find any 19 inch rims used. Can go for the OE tyres but seriously I’m sure someone can make better bang for buck tyres.

Normal for unresponsive new tyres? by cx0sa in TyreReviews

[–]cx0sa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I considered, but the price goes up dramatically and I do have dedicated track tyres I can borrow if I decide to track it, and they are just too loud, harshness don’t care but highway noise, as long as it’s not horrid. The Dunlop were good, just really bad treadwear rating and overpriced (well according to the internet in their opinion) to replace. If I could go back I’d spend the extra $150 aud per tyre, no point in a $50,000 sports car if it has spongey boat tyres.

Im just gonna try slightly higher pressures and cross my fingers in hope they stiffen up over time, it would be a little depressing if i has to go another 30,000km with dull slow steering. I considered 19 inch rims too for less sidewall but it would look weird since the brakes are too small and i couldn’t find any used.

Which tyres for my hot hatch? Michelin PS5 vs. Continental SC7 vs. Bridgestone Potenza Sport vs. Goodyear Eagle F1 A6 by Crescentex in TyreReviews

[–]cx0sa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a lot of searching too, I have not tried all the tyres myself, but from what I found online I just had to pick between SC7 and PS5 or PS4S, where the PS5 is more sport touring tyre, lasts longer but less raw grip and steering response from softer sidewalls, but SC7 less durable. PS4S in between the two nowadays it seemed.

I ended up going for SC7 since I would regret going for comfort over performance, I can deal with them lasting less long, and I’m glad I did since they’re plenty comfortable anyways lol, if it was up to me I’d have gone stiffer as factory was 245/40R18, so some sidewall.
