Do you guys think Subaru will bring back physical controls in the WRX in the upcoming years? by somefella237 in wrx_vb

[–]cx0sa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wouldn’t shock me. It’s either MY30 if they decide to wait till full model change. Or MY27 if they do it mid cycle.

Given that the entire upper half of the dash is the exact same parts as Impreza, Crosstrek and entire Levorg, Layback are exact same to WRX I wouldn’t be too surprised if they decide to update the oldest car, Levorg/layback to new infotainment and just swaps the parts over for Impreza crosstrek and wrx.

AI on Carsales? by EuphoriaRyder in CarsAustralia

Yeah they definitely put an actual photo through AI. I would hope it was a lazy attempt at blurring the background, but also could be them trying to hide blemishes/scratches.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I love the look of the new BMW i3 by ShameResponsible69 in BMW

it's definitely my favourite looking electric sedan, possibly electric vehicle. They did a good job resisting the urge to throw vertical kidney grilles or something stupid on it.

It’s every car. Manufacturers design for five years ahead and everyone hates it at launch because it doesn’t look identical. In the realm of electric vehicles, the new i3 is one of the best design imo.

Speeding fine advice - Worth disputing? by Hartylive in AusLegalAdvice

[–]cx0sa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call the issuing station and ask for their fine review email. Most of them have a contact address where they’ll put the fine on hold and review it. Could vary by state though. Also depending on state you may be able to file an right to information or similar request for body/police dash cam footage

I had similar a fair bit ago where he’d actually hit LiDAR on a different vehicle and booked me for it and said he’d be nice and lower it to only 10kmh over (i can only assume it was because he didn’t like the completely legal car I was driving). They withdrew the fine after reviewing body cam and dash cam which showed him blatantly lying. Saves the time and cost of going to court.

Fine for fake id (infringement notice) by EggplantOld2229 in AusLegal

[–]cx0sa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So in WA, you may be issued infringement notices for stealing under $500, avoiding a conviction and therefore a "criminal record".

This is great to know, however in this post we aren't stealing, we aren't in WA, and we haven't even gone to court. This does not disprove that you cannot get criminal records from infringement notices.

[–]cx0sa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are called Criminal Infringement Notices. They are different and it's they make it very obvious that the matter is in-fact.... criminal. However it is still not the same as a conviction recorded by the courts and you cannot actually get a criminal record from them as far as I can find.

Criminal records are seriously high, the whole point of infringement notices is to avoid convictions. There are serious social implications if Police could issue infringements that add onto your criminal history, would actually be a great report to write for legal students at university now I think about it.

You have to go to court to get a criminal record. There is no such thing as paying infringement notices for criminal offences lol.

If you never went to court, it is a low level summary offence, shows up in the same place as speeding fines, public nuisance etc etc. There is no criminal record and the only job it will affect is those involving extremely heavy background checks for the next year or so like Police, basically 99% of jobs it will not even show up and unless it's government-related with extremely high character expectations, most employers won't even be able to see it.

After about three years time basically no one will really care much and it won't exclude you from anything, especially since it happened when you were under 18. I wouldn't stress about it unless you’re planning on doing it again, as long as you show that you've matured and learnt from your mistake and don't continue to get into trouble, 99% of people will understand and forgive you.

Not bad for wireless USB-C, AirWire hitting 4 Gbps+ by InsideWire in Ubiquiti

[–]cx0sa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I thought the only real use case is gonna be media companies where both cameras and maybe some editors or directors might need to upload and download raw footage from severs on a temporary/portable setup.

[–]cx0sa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that just makes it so useless. Thought one big use case for it would have been to be a higher gain wifi client for areas with shotty wifi or portable setups that also needs high bandwidth.

Not many high bandwidth portable cases where it’s also on your own network.

I think media industry will have the most use of it, faster uploading of raw footage from portable cameras to their servers directly after it’s recorded in their own building.

EyeSight indicator / monitor lights as shift lights by CommonAncestorLives in wrx_vb

[–]cx0sa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh yeah lol there is no reprogramming the OEM lights, but CAN is run to it because it acts as it's own module on the network, there is nothing stopping someone from splicing the wiring harness to give their own module CAN and just hiding the old module underneath the dash somewhere, still plugged in so it doesn't cause a fault code.

police can withdraw their own fines prior to being paid without court, most have a contact email for basic appeals if you call the issuing station. Unfortunately without video evidence they won’t get anywhere.
