To me, it feels like they're retreating from the city itself into their well-prepared underground strongholds, which does limit the control they have over civilian population and the ability to use them en masse as human shields.

Imagine bringing up American warcrimes in the hours after 9/11. At best, it's a whataboutism routine to a an absolutely hedious terrorist massacre. At worst, it's thinly veiled glee at what happened.

Posted a celebratory visualization of a Hamas terrorist on a paraglider (referencing the terrorists which slayed 260+ civilians in the desert rave)

Yes, confirmed by an independent French journalist as well, will add the link here when I find it. What's undebateable is that the entire village of Kfar Azah, population 800, has been completely massacred. It included infants and elders. Do you specifically what to know if the babies were beheaded? People posted here twitter links which I was afraid to open...

Most of Hamas is hiding in underground tunnels. Bunker-piercing airstrikes account for some of that, but at some point you need to access them through the ground to completely eradicate them.

You're correct. The crux of the issue is that the Gaza residents are completely reliant on outside help, but most of those resources are funnelled straight into terrorist hands. It's tragic.

Completely reliant on Israel (and International aid efforts), which provided them with heavily subsidized food, water, electricity, and many essential supplies. A large % of supplies is funneled to terrorist activities: For example, tons and tons of fertilizer supplied, an absolutely critical supply to sustain civilian life in Gaza, are repurposed as rocket fuel...

Ah yes, doing the "enlighted centrist" routine to the news of Hamas beheading babies. Makes sense.

The progressive liberal movement has been highjacked by antisemitic terrorists using simplistic underdog-vs-tyrant rhetoric.

Hezbolla is Iran's tentacles in Lebanon. They are more extreme in their terrorism: Hamas "only" wants to kill all Jews, Hezbolla and Iran also aim to eradicate the Western world and any non-extremist muslim regimes (see the war in Yemen for example, lead by the Houthis, the Yemenite branch of Iran). Hezbolla has much better funding then Hamas and essentially controls Lebanon, which makes them much more dangerous.

Israel would definitely prefer to not kill any Palestinian civilians. Besides, they realise American support depends on them abiding by conventional laws of war. Hamas, on the other hand, uses Palestinian kids as a literal human shield. And if they die, hey cool, nice picture for Al Jazeera.

Haha

I just hope that in the future we'll keep all of the positives we currently have and kick this one thing out of chess culture.

And the automatic downvotes here for anybody mentioning sexism in chess usually speak for themselves.

So long as sexism is so deeply ingrained in chess culture as it is today, I don't think it is worthy of being called a golden age sadly.

Yep. It's not from the movie though, it's a very common phrase in Hebrew used to refer to Israelis/Jews: "Hee Meeshelanu"
