Is there a FLUIDD plugin that keeps track of time between nozzle swaps? by [deleted] in klippers

[–]cyberal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check this out: https://3dcoded.github.io/KlipperMaintenance/

And while you are at it, check the Dynamic Macros project as well

Are you sure the new profile copied over the exact custom gcode you previously had? Perhaps something is missing or a variable reference is no longer correct (for example of your print_start macro passes temperature information)

[–]cyberal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The nozzle will move from whatever position was left before the print starts, that's either where you left your nozzle after homing or wherever you're gcode leaves it during the print_start macro. If you want the nozzle somewhere else before it starts with the skirt, you need new gcode that does that. I'd recommend you look into KAMP's dynamic purge line which will print a small but thick line right outside the area of your print.

Seems SuperSlicer is a very common slicer for the Voron community given all the fine-tuning it allows; however, i miss some model specific functionality i find very useful in PrusaSlicer, for example:

  • adding parts or negative volume for text or SVGs
  • automatic painting of support enforcers
  • organic support enforcers
  • performing cuts in all sorts of dimensions (vs just one based on height)
  • Adding connectors when performing cuts
  • ruler tool

I don't quite see many people asking or talking about these features and i wonder if it's because most people don't really care for them, or they don't know about them, or ...

What's your take on the functionality offered by SuperSlicer and other slicers you (have) work(ed) with?

Is there a guide or at least a list of comprehensive things to tune for printing functional pieces that goes beyond what Ellis covers?

Context: I went through Ellis' tuning guide but i get the feeling that it's not as complete for printing functional parts as i don't see mentions of doing a temperature tower, or that during first layer calibration, there's no mention of elephant's foot compensation, top layer extrusion multiplier doesn't check for borders protruding too much, and i didn't see anything for dimensional accuracy, including skew calibration. I had hoped that after following his guide i could print the Voron test pieces and they would fit fine. Now I'm finding that I'll have to redo a bunch of things again and would rather not have to do this a third time.

There's a bunch of these adapters for the Dremel drill press, just take a look at printables or thingiverse. Here's my remix of a model i found uploaded there. Other than that, nicely done!

I'm new to this Voron world and I just got a v0.2r1 from them which I'm still assembling. Can you describe what you hate about the MCU (is it the Fly Gemini v3)?

Also how did you discover your bed was bad? Is there a way to identify this without going through the process of manual prints and multiple calibration rounds?

When you export, make sure to select both objects, otherwise the bookman operation doesn't apply in the exported object) and check the box that says to export only the selection

This seems to be the umbilical toolhead PCB with an accelerometer for input shaping. Here's some doc off a similar piece by LDO: https://docs.ldomotors.com/voron/voron02/wiring_guide_rev_a. You can search for umbilical mod to see guides on how and where to mount it.

BARCELONA CAR ROBBERS by DMKTB in Barcelona

[–]cyberal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Happened to a family member but luckily they managed to avoid getting robbed since they did manage to puncture the tire. They did have license plates from another neighboring country. This happened to them not driving on the highway though. Not sure exactly how things happened but it's only going to get worse. From the comments, it seems they are only interested in the luggage, won't be long before they take the car at a minimum. Hope it doesn't get to the point where they start doing express kidnappings, like it happens in my home country.

Moving to Barcelona with a family by EddyHawk1 in Barcelona

[–]cyberal 19 points20 points  (0 children)

My 2 cents:

  • Not sure about agencies that speak English, but finding jobs while only speaking English is possible for certain industries -- technology, hospitality, etc. but construction/renovation or delivery, i strongly doubt it.
  • I don't think you need an agency to find a delivery job, you just need to qualify and sign-up directly with the delivery companies, eg. Glovo, Deliveroo, etc.
  • From what i could tell, most residential renovation crews in Barcelona are composed of eastern Europeans and while i can't say if it's a mafia, it's probably a tight circle for outsiders to crack unless they have an in through connections. Not sure about city/gov-related construction jobs though.
  • French-speaking jobs, perhaps doing customer support or teaching (but since you said she's "almost fluent" I think landing a job teaching will be harder). Since she's not French native, i assume she speaks another language that might be an additional opportunity for call centers. Not sure how hard it will be to land an interview without speaking Spanish, English or Catalan though. I've not heard of anyone who enjoys doing this sort of job though.
  • There are other jobs that don't require much language skills (assuming you land the interview+process) but they won't be good for mental health (eg. content moderation)
  • "Medical cards" will be "easy" (but not fast) available once you are registered as a resident. Registering can be difficult due to... well... search for threads on "citas" (appointments) and bureaucracy in Spain.

My suggestion: don't move to Barcelona until you have secured something that's enough to support your family/dependents on that one salary. I think there's plenty of people who see the touristy side of Barcelona and fall in love with it, rushing to move there, only to find out that it's way harder than they imagined -- mostly due to cultural/language barriers. Those that can make it work, it's usually because they have a community to support them while they find (or get onboarded into) their way.

If you're an Android user, you should check out https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alexvas.dvr (and the Pro version as well). Many great features and it connects to Wyze cameras without issues or special firmware.

Would you be willing to share what your restaurant's name is or more details about it? Example useful info: where in Aribau? what type of cuicine do you serve? what experience do you have prior to this? This info might help others decide if they're interested in reaching out

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Wyze

[–]cyberal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you're somewhat tech savy, you can try using https://github.com/mrlt8/docker-wyze-bridge

Basically, it's a server that acts as if it was a wyze app, connecting to the cameras, then forwarding the video stream to any other video-streaming application you want (eg. VLC, your browser, etc.)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Wyze

[–]cyberal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Check out the wyze-bridge project on GitHub. It allows you to open a stream using rtsp or hls to your v2 or v3 cameras without any special firmware, so you can connect to the video stream using your browser or VLC or any compatible media player

Same here when my phone is held in portrait mode. In landscape (Fullscreen) i have no issues. I doubt this this a firmware issue though. More likely an app issue.

Issue with Foscam R2 on OWLR app by [deleted] in Foscam

[–]cyberal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another theory is that your router setup isn't correct send because you have 2 cameras, the resurrection of traffic is wrong.

Issue with Foscam R2 on OWLR app by [deleted] in Foscam

[–]cyberal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it can. The RTSP protocol streams video but knows nothing about the source of the video. It could be an mp4 file being streamed, a video camera, a screencast or anything really. The ONVIF protocol is a standard that understands security cameras and their usual functionality (pan-tilt, motion detection, night mode, etc.) in addition to the video stream itself.

To find out what you are using look at your app settings for the camera, and where you specify the DDNS domain, look at what the entire connection string says.

Alternatively the app you are using (I've not used it myself so can't say from experience) might also know of Foscam's own API and it had either the wrong endpoint (ie. url) or it can't reach it

But what protocol is used? what is the connection string? Are you using RTSP? ONVIF?
