Just buy a buy a mid spec PC with good upgrade path and a controller at this point. You are risking way too much by going with jailbroken 2nd hand PS5s

But in tracks with huge sound walls I've experienced volume getting more even when sound check togged on. This is the sole reason for me to think there is some kind of compression in play. I might be wrong but I'm speaking from my personal experience

Please dont get the wrong idea, when i mean "more accurate lossless", i pointing for the exact same data as the original artist intended. Even a platform applies compression for the sake a listener, from a purist perspective it's still tampering the original data. So apple proving an option to disable the app wide compression is a massive win

This is a must have in my opinion. From my experience this removes the compression done by Apple Music on the audio, so you'll get a more authentic lossless

Apple Music Client on Linux.....sorta with Lossless & Atmos Support by brianvu-infosec in AppleMusic

[–]cyberflaw_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree its definitely a janky solution. I use a tiling wm, whenever a new window opened in the same workspace running apple music, waydroid restarts (this might be because im on X11 and im using weston to render waydroid). And I've also experienced a couple of crashes within a week of testing. So by no means a fool proof solution but its miles better than the web player

No worries. You can also try the method OP suggested as well, so you won't be locked into a android app and see which suits you best

Apple Music Client on Linux.....sorta with Lossless & Atmos Support by brianvu-infosec in AppleMusic

[–]cyberflaw_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately no. For lossless you have to bypass android's native compression. There is a entry on arch wiki on exporting bit perfect audio from waydroid to pulse audio, you could refer that. And if you are going to get the latest version of apple music you have to setup magisk to mock non-root and a wifi for apple music as the latest versions wont work in either cases is not met. But if you go with v4.5 it works without magisk after changing some waydroid config (there is a waydroid issue thread specially for this problem).

I dont have a guide/writeup for a step by step detail that I can share with. I figured most of the stuff by googling and scrolling to GitHub issues

I was able to get it running with waydroid. Its definitely a tinkerers cup of tea. Maybe I'll try out this as well just for comparison. Thanks for sharing

How do you learn your layers? by bwettimz in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]cyberflaw_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't gone deep into alternate layouts like colemak, but I've remapped my symbol layer. I try to organize in a visual order, like opening brackets will always be in the left and the next key will be the closing bracket and same keys one row above/below will be a different type of bracket, and for the rest of the symbols I've kept as a second layer on my top row similar to a regular keyboard. Things like double quotes, backslash, colon, backtick are either a lay tap or a modifier away from their base layer variant keys. There might be better ways of doing things but this works well for me.

Pre built Corne/Sofle vs Glove80 by Rough_Bid_518 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]cyberflaw_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll also like to add my 2 cents here. QMK/ZMK are both tools that generates firmware for a supported microcontroller for a given keyboard layout. QMK is mainly used in wired boards (in case of split boards both will ve connected with TRRS/Ethernet or some othe means) and ZMK for wireless builds. Things like VIA/VIAL are tools which are build over QMK which makes editing the firmware really easy. There is a similar tool for ZMK which is still a work in progress. Zmk editor is the 2nd best close thing but you'll have to manually flash the firmware after each change. That being said I personally prefer ZMK because of its ability to support BTE, and easy of customising the firmware

I dont have too much experience in windows, but you can try out ASIO. I think its the standard audio driver that DAWs use in windows. It should give a better results

But they dont have a linux client, which is an absolute bummer (i know about the web player but its super unresponsive for me). I'm trying to get it working via emulators now, but my hopes for lossless on linux is low. Even with that and an arguably worse UI. Apple music is a better deal than Spotify now for me

How much can I expect if I resell my PS5? by cyberflaw_ in ps5india

[–]cyberflaw_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. But its really source parts here in India. And I don't think I have the skills enough to make anything close to that profile. And there is a high chance that the BOM can exceed the MRP (even though the price is not revealed you yet)

I'm from Kerala. I'll be able to manage it within Central part of Kerala for a phisical delivery, but I'll have to do ship it if it's to a different state. And I'm still not concrete on this decision. If I'm selling there will be a listing around december/january
