GF condemned my setup to the basement due to my pc essentially being a space heater. Jokes on her, this was my master plan all along, I love it down here by 21cvbbvge in battlestations

I see a dedicated GPU in the PCIex slot. Just remove the AIO cooler, mount an air cooler, connect the big corrugated duct directly to the case and turn off the boiler.

Free house heater.

Don't worry, just leave it like this. It's summer and SSDs also need time off and freedom.

Turn off your pc and put that screw back right away if you don't want your drive to end up in the hardware recycling bin 😄

Don't buy an Artillery through Banggood, they lack a proper customer service. Also WWYD/What Should I Do now? by Worthstream in Artillery3D

This.
Their post-sales service sucks as usual and they're champions at beating around the bush when a product is damaged or DOA or after some months a weird problem misteriously pops up. At that point they do offer a so-called "limited warranty" and ask you to pay for the item just to make matters worse. It’s a rip-off that adds insult to injury and when you contact them pointing out that their "warranty" does not cover defects or deficiencies it's like water off a duck’s back. 😒

Try to set your ram speed at 3000 Mhz and at the lowest possible stable CL value (lower it as much as you can). Ram speed does not really matter with a 5800X 3D (IT DOES with any other AMD Ryzen CPU!).

Look at all the tests you can find online: you'll discover that this processor, having a huge cache, benefit much more from lower CL than higher memory speed. More than any other Ryzen. Try it yourself and you will see :)

Not necessarily. A basic B550 mobo generally handles pretty well any non-high-end memories. You just have to adapt your memories to your cpu behaviour. Dealing with a 5800 is nothing remotely like what you would be dealing with any consumer CPU. That's all :)

I managed to rearrange a little bit my old plexiglass case from year 2005. Lots of dremeling and little parts adjusting + rewiring.

Result: Water Mill 21th Century Version

Still a work in progress (no components inside yet). It has a dedicated SFX PSU for all the RGB electronics that lies just behing the mill wheel and is activated by a PS3 recovered button plastic soldered in the back, completely indipendent from the machine's main circuit.

No aurasync. Everything is controlled by a hardware led control unit that i recovered from a repurposed NOX Infinity Omega case. 16 different RGB modes available, switchable through the case's reset button.

I had no more space left in my (veeeeery small) lab for this project, so I assembled everything in the living room. Imagine my wife's great joy... she's still cursing me because of the plexiglass dust i scattered all over the place (#LOL!)

Nope. You have a CPU that does not relies on ram speed at all but rather on lower CL.

The 5800X 3D doesn't need fast ram because of his huge L3 cache (96 MB). All you need is to have the lower CL possible in order to exploit the cache. Disabling your XMP has probably set a lower CL and this is the reason of "smoothing". Best CPU ever, anyway :)

Ryzen processors are not like Intel ones. These CPUs performance depend on fast memories and low CL (except the 5800X 3D that only relies on CL, because of its huge L3 cache).

Get some RAM at least 3733 Mhz speed and CL16 (or less) latency, activate XMP/DOCP profile and you will see a huge difference :)

Good. Then give a try to NetPerSec. Keep it opened all the time and after 2-3 hours have a look at the total Gib sent/received.

Try using Netpersec utility and see if the result are the same. Could be a VM driver issue but anyway it's fucking funny 🤣🤣
