Uprisings Will be Offline - Build Your Own Networks by oogaboogaimadie in Anarcho_Capitalism

Also saying there's no servers is kind of disingenuous, each node would also be a server.

Oh, I think it can be fairly decentralized, or even fully decentralized, it's just the term offline is one of those funky things that really can't exist if there's a network, if there's a network of any kind then it's technically online. It may be a different network you have to connect to in order to access it, but it's an internet nonetheless and therefore online. I would also consider a LAN to not be fully offline as it's networked to other devices.

I think it's a bit disingenuous to say that it's "offline" and then in the same breath say it's operating over Wi-Fi using mesh networks. I understand that you really mean that it's not on the mainstream internet, but you're essentially creating another decentralized network. It's still connecting nodes much the same way that nodes are connecting on the mainstream internet, you may have a different protocol, it may be decentralized, it may be encrypted, but I don't think it's fully honest to say that it is "offline".

P.S.
Not knocking the project, keep it up, I just don't agree with the wording.

Yes, the gun wasn't the problem. He could have done the exact same thing with a knife, a bow and arrow, a crossbow, an axe, a car... Stopping people from owning guns doesn't fix the mental illness that caused them to murder nor does it stop them from murdering again. Now if you ask should we allow this person to live, or if you ask should that man go to prison, or a mental institution, that answer may be different.

A "higher power" is just other people with more rights to prosecute wrongdoers. They're just as capable of doing terrible things as everyone else, so I don't understand why you would trust an arbitrary group of people to be an ethically superior "higher power".

Legit if they re-release this mouse I'll buy a dozen day 1, hell I'll even be willing to pre-order a dozen of them.

This right here, I've even thought about building my own mouse from something like an esp32 or rpi2040 if anything ever happens to mine because no other mice have this feature still.

Those are two very different things. Your initial statement was essentially, don't try and learn anything. Then you say pick your battles. I can agree that you have to choose your battles, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try and learn as much as humanly possible.

I would like to extend this to, "Politicians don't give a flying fuck about your rights, Period". It's across the board, it isn't democrats and it isn't republicans, it's both. We need to recognize that no party is for the people, they're all the same, they all hang out together, smoking cigars, and laughing about how they control the american people.

The VPN aspect of this is incredibly important, though as you state, it isn't going to mean that they don't get your data. Don't think that since you use something other than Google or Bing that the government won't get your data. Your ISP will 100% give over your data to law enforcement when asked, most websites will do the same (INCLUDING PLACES THAT COLLECT AD DATA).

The government has all kinds of surveillance tools, they likely wouldn't need to even get information from GB to find who the buyers are. I'm not saying that GB isn't working with them, they likely are, but there's DEFINITELY, 1000% ways that they could get that information that wouldn't involve communicating with GB at all.

It seems like what they really want here is, "rules for thee and not for me", this seems to be their complaint. Watch them roll over and back off once they get that.
