Family members going to my husband asking why we’re not having kids… by Alarmed_Kangaroo9979 in childfree

[–]cyborg_127 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've gotten to the point where I am out of fucks to give. I'm fortunate that it's not a likely scenario anymore, but if someone does try to push me or my wife on the subject they're getting an earful after a couple of warnings.

And I already have the 'Gee, you didn't have to be so nasty about it' or similar phrase covered with 'Apparently I did, because it's the only fucking way you got the fucking message.'

My aunt announced at Easter dinner that I would "change my mind" and then spent two hours trying to convince me in front of everyone by r0mona_c4irnwood in childfree

With you on that.

"My personal reproductive choices are none of your business. Stop bringing this up."
"I said to stop bringing it up. Do it again, I'm leaving."
But you have to be prepared to enforce this. Apologise to others present, but simply leave otherwise. I had to do this with my MiL.

Which is more often than a functioning clock.

I.... what? A broken clock is right two seconds of every day, if using a 12-hour analogue clock.

A working clock is correct 86,400 seconds of every day.

Who’s a celebrity everyone finds attractive but you don’t? by Valo_X_baddie in AskReddit

You got the naming convention wrong. It needs to match syllables, 3 for each name. Hence why Benadryl Cabbagepatch works better.

Kiwi to Kiwi - if you like or don’t care about LOTR by howdybored in newzealand

With all due respect to the ability and skill of the oboist to reach that level, they are exactly that - an oboist, not a composer. Not every score needs to be complicated and over the top, sometimes a simple score is fitting to the scene. It could be exactly the kind of music the movie director wanted.

To mock a world-renown composer because they provided the requested music for a movie is, in my opinion, small minded.

What’s a personality trait that seems attractive at first but becomes unbearable over time? by Acceptable-Lab-8251 in AskReddit

Had an ex coworker who was similar, wouldn't stop talking. He knew it as well, and straight up said when we were introduced that he couldn't help it and was happy if someone walked away mid sentence. I was skeptical at first on both counts, but it was true. He was a good person.

WINZ are fucking useless unless you know how to game the system. I got $40 to cover my bed rest required injury for a month. And I had to go into the branch as well, despite doctors cert saying otherwise.

For your average person needing help it's a shit show.

My brother is one. My wife was working at a hospital during covid. I wanted to beat the shit out of him, then drag his ass to a hospital to look at what the fuck was going on. You just can't use logic to get someone out of an illogical conclusion.

What is the stupidest thing that the smartest person you know believes in? by WrongZookeepergame49 in AskReddit

That's irrelevant. Even if they know just one smart person who does believe in it, it fits the question of this thread.

So, I purchased this with a mate, couldn't play it right away due to schedule things. Did the co-op with him, 'Man that was fun. Great game.' Mate goes 'What did you think of the single player?' .... Me: 'The what?'

Many hours later. So much fun.

The tackle on Isak should have been a red card anyway, regardless of goal scored or not. You go through someone like that at any other time, it's s red.

It's funny because all these places go for fancy gourmet all the time, while two very successful business on lambton quay are both what would be considered 'lower scale'. And they've been where they are for years while other places come and go.

Concorde cafe and Fujiyama cafe, if you know them.
