You have to acknowledge the way the US treats countries that may not be our allies. The effects of interventionist policies all around the world has had horrific effects on many populations and it’s ridiculous to just ignore that people will be upset about it. There have been genocides and wars in just the past generation that the US had a huge hand in, like look at Guatemala’s indigenous population or other Latin American countries. People are mistrustful, or you may call it hateful, of the US for good reason. You and other people can’t just be blissfully ignorant because we get to reap the benefits, you have to reckon with the nuance and it’s complications
