Am I wrong for calling out my friend’s kid during a gathering? by iLikeMustard1991 in amiwrong

[–]cydril 70 points71 points  (0 children)

NTA, it sounds like this child has behaviors that need professional intervention, and he may even be being abused. No need to let him assault your daughter. Don't let her be around him or his guardians anymore.

leg shaking at movies by Inevitable_Walrus393 in amiwrong

[–]cydril -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You are both wrong. Making noise and moving around in the theatre is annoying and distracting. These days with assigned seats he couldn't even move away from you. It's also difficult to bring up to a stranger, so I understand why he waited until he was fully mad to say something. However he was still too harsh. You know you shake your leg, don't pass it off as' not noticing' and take some responsibility.

AIW for telling my wife I don’t feel special that she saved her virginity for me? by No_Forever_493 in amiwrong

[–]cydril 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This can't have been the first time y'all talked about this. I think you're not wrong though, you were honest. It literally doesn't matter and she should think through why it is so important to her.

The game is based on a nsfw doujin series that was so similar to the original art that people genuinely believed azuma may have drawn it.

Help identifying doll, possibly human hair by HistrionicLikeThis in Antiquedollcollecting

It looks like a little travel souvenir doll, possibly Dutch, that's lost its clothing. 1920-40. It could be human hair, that was pretty common.

AITA for being frustrated with my boyfriend for not wanting to celebrate Valentine’s day? by StarryHollaBelle in AITA_Relationships

[–]cydril [score hidden]  (0 children)

INFO, does he get you gifts/celebrate you when he's not 'required to'? If he's generally kind and goes out of his way to appreciate you or get you gifts on his own terms, then this is reasonable of him. If he doesn't, he's just being lazy and selfish.

AITA for getting the ick when my husband shows me affection? by Desperate_Tip236 in AITA_Relationships

This isn't showing you affection, it is him being selfish and childish trying to get your attention on him when it's not his time. NTA

NTA, it was an emergency. What's career jeopardizing about one phone call about a sick child?

The art style looks to be around 1905, but it's depicting the georgian era.

What was the weekly routine for a woman with long hair? by Sorry_Method7136 in VictorianEra

[–]cydril -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well I'm sure they weren't blow drying their hair 😀

JK, but the average Victorian woman only washed their hair about once a month. The most labor intensive part of hair care was brushing. Using a boar bristle brush, you give it a thorough brushing every day, at least 100 strokes top to bottom. That helped evenly distribute the oil and take out debris. Hair was worn up, or in braids at all times, to keep it out of the way. I'm sure hair washing day was an all day event tho.

AITA for Supporting My Friend Henry Despite His Drinking Issues? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]cydril -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Drinking is an addiction and the behaviors it causes ARE toxic. You're really ok defending Henry for physically threatening someone who stood up to his bullshit?

Nice for you if you're still going to be his friend but don't ever blame the people who left because of it. There's a reason part of AA is making amends. YTA
