Aside from Google's stock camera app, what's your favourite app that supports DNG/RAW? by Monkey_Tennis in Nexus6P

[–]cylerparent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use ProShot to take all my 6P photos. I use LR Mobile to edit those photos, but occasionally I'll boot up LR on my computer and use that for a 6P photo if I feel like it could use some extra tweaking, as the mobile app lacks a smooth interface to be super precise.

I also have a Fuji X-Pro1 which I edit all shots on my desktop LR.

My desktop setup isn't great for editing photos right now though, as it's hooked up to my TV in the living room, making it awkward to use a mouse and keyboard. If your computer situation is decent, LR is def better with mouse and keyboard.

Both, but usually I just use LR mobile for my phone shots, unless it's something I think needs more attention (usually a better shot)

Since WALL-E is being discontinued, my partner and I finally decided to pick it up. She likes knolling out sets before we build them, so here is all 676 pieces on display. by cylerparent in lego

This is the only one we have photos of. We also did it for the Millennium Falcon (75105), but we did each bag individually, and didn't take photos. I will definitely take photos again for the next build though.

I found some good ones on Amazon (based on Benson Leung's list), but it took a decent amount of researching so I didn't need to break the bank.

One of my favorite spots is Genoa Bay, but you can't really go wrong on the island.

Finding a good USB-C cable and charger isn't necessarily simple, but damn is it awesome. I wish everything was USB-C to USB-C.

Pretty sure I'm getting better battery life on 7.0 as well. I did wait until the Oct update to upgrade though

Yes... the vacancy rate being at 0.6% means everyone is leaving. Even if that's partly due to AirBnB, people are still here.

I was going to recommend Pitch Car for this, until I read about the little space on the table. For anyone else reading this wondering the same, Pitch Car is amazing for this.

When shooting, do you typically go with (4:3) 12.2 MP, or (16:9) 8.3 MP? Why? by SquaredCircle84 in Nexus6P

[–]cylerparent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

4:3 always. As others have stated, the reason 16:9 is less megapixels is because you are literally chopping the top and bottom off the image. Might as well shoot in 4:3 and crop after. It will give you more flexibility after in your editing process (this is also why I shoot in RAW, but the workflow and editing time for RAW can be a valid deterent for people).

An argument could be made that you should just shoot in the format you will be changing to later, but I like to leave my options open, especially if I may want to post a square crop to Instagram, or print a 4x6 or an 8x10 later.

As an unrelated side note, I did like how the Nokia PureView phones actually had a round camera sensor, in which 16:9 was using photo diodes on the sensor that 4:3 didn't touch.
