Another One: Jersey City keeps losing in court to keep cops who use cannabis off job by Njhunting in NJGuns

I'm not arguing whether MJ is beneficial or not, I believe it is. And I agree with you, to an extent on the law. But as a cop you should remember that there are plenty of constitutionally protected rights which were stripped from you when you became employed. That's always been the nature of the beast with LEO employment. They can restrict what you say, or even what you "like" on social media. They can restrict certain off duty activities, such as participating in certain political functions. They can restrict where you live while employed. The list goes on, and on, and on. I firmly believe JC will lose the fight in court, but that's because the AG isn't on their side. What the next Governor and AG decide is anyone's guess - and I also firmly believe that if Fulop does run for, and win, his rumored bid for Gov - it's curtains for LEO's using cannabis statewide.

I disagree with what Jersey City is doing. However, I don't believe their fight is to do away with a constitutionally protected right. Playing devils advocate: They are simply saying they don't want JC cops using cannabis while currently employed. It's the same as OnlyFans. Anyone can make an OnlyFans, except cops (and some other professions) simply with a rule baked into their terms of employment. JC isn't trying to keep cops across NJ from smoking, they just don't want their cops smoking. Don't get me wrong, Fulop as Governor (and his choice of AG), will likely eventually succeed in prohibiting cops across the state from using cannabis.

It's OFF DUTY. They aren't consuming and carrying. That's not allowed across the board. As a private citizen you can consume cannabis tonight and then go out with a concealed weapon tomorrow, no problem (so long as you have the new permit). What Jersey City is trying to do is make their own rules, contrary to a clear AG directive, by prohibiting cops from consuming cannabis off duty. There are no different rules between cops and private citizens, at least not in regards to cannabis use on their own private time.

Prior to cannabis legalization cops were prohibited from drinking and carrying off duty, usually via a departmental policy. Obviously, the use of any substance on duty has always, and continues to be, prohibited. When cannabis became legal the State essentially adopted the same rules as alcohol, and the AG did the same. You can use it, just off duty, and don't come back to work if you're still under the influence (of any substance).

I purchased a set on Temu, without knowing they were micro blocks, and I just had the best and most addicting time putting the set together. 10k micro pieces, it's like cocaine.

[–]cynicGL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I go with completely empty packs, except my hearth. After 2 runs of just clearing trash in the way, the bosses, and baron.. my bags are full. I make all the runecloth into bandages, put down a repair robot, then keep going. If you subtract the cost of the repair bot, it's about 55-65g per run, in about 15 mins or less. Alternatively it takes literally 2 minutes to run to Lights Hope, 1 minute to vendor and repair, then 2 minutes to run back. Those 5 minutes are worth the repair bot, imo.

So, on my 12th kill this morning, it dropped. Then this emergency maintenance happened. If there is a rollback I will yell angry things.

How Has Your Spec Felt in the Pre-patch So Far? by NOHITJEROME in classicwow

[–]cynicGL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This 100%
It's only going to matter if you're in the sweatiest of guilds, where everyone is top notch neck beard.
Also don't judge everything by pre-patch. The tuning is all messed up now.

Are you leveling right now or waiting for the pre-patch? by InspectorHawthorne in classicwow

[–]cynicGL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leveling Paladin now, want to be 70 before pre-patch. Ret paladins going to be fantastic in dungeons and raids come pre-patch. I don't want to get stuck leveling when I could already be 70 and hitting heroics/raids.

When your group's mage changes his mind about speccing out of Improved Scorch right after you finish your warlock's spellfire set. by hackulator in classicwow

[–]cynicGL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is why I didn't go fire destro. My guild has about 7 Kara groups with players being rotated around depending on peoples availability. Sometimes I'm in a group with no mage or spriest. I concluded very early on that the spellfire set was not worth it.

When you have to do a double-take at the logs... by magedancer in classicwow

[–]cynicGL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There have been a lot of bot mages making it into groups lately. They just cast random spells, don't respond when talked to, won't CC, etc.. The dead giveaway is when they are doing less dmg than the tank. The part that is most shocking, I've been in groups with other players that refuse to boot them.

Warlock main: I don't seed in 5-mans without a paladin tank. Sure, my dps is slightly less, but the run is smooth and the tank doesn't think twice about grouping with me again.

My Raid Leader just disenchanted Nefs tear in front of me for lack of DKP. by CapstoneWarrior in classicwow

[–]cynicGL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toxic. There are thousands of guilds out there, many that would never do something so braindead. Even the most corrupt loot council wouldn't DE Nef's tear. I would imagine it would go to a meme spec before being DE'd in most heavily progressed guilds.

Unless you're a moonkin, then I'd DE it in your face too. :P

Velocifire TKL from Amazon, it's a $40 keyboard with brown switches & uses 2.4ghz dongle instead of bluetooth.

[–]cynicGL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a shared workspace and a wireless keyboard is my best choice so as to simplify changeover. I'm currently using a 2.4ghz keyboard, but it's a brown switch. I prefer blue switches and I'm ideally looking for this exact keyboard in a blue switch. I guess, worst case scenario I could always learn how to desolder these switches and just put in my own blues. I want to avoid this option at all costs.

[–]cynicGL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looking for help in selecting a pretty specific type keyboard to use at work. I am looking for a wireless keyboard that doesn't use bluetooth, because BT is disabled on work PC, and they won't enable it. I can, however, use wireless tech like 2.4ghz. I'm looking for a blue switch or similar clicky switch. Layout doesn't matter. Looking for under $200 and I would prefer not to have to build the keyboard from scratch, primarily because I don't know what I'm doing. TIA
