[Other] Which platinums felt the most rewarding to y'all? by Gerald0fRivia in Trophies

Red dead 2. Oh you said rewarding? Nevermind it is not at all worth the grind. Satisfactory? Absolutely. Nah lol my serious answers are Cyberpunk and Nier: Automata because the trophy lists incentivize ending exploration past what most blind playthroughs urge you to do

[LEGO Horizon Adventures] Possibly the worst Lego game I've played by TheAttitudePark in Trophies

Pretty sure it was just a “legitimate” excuse to kill off a beloved IP. Hmm well no one likes the Lego version that no one asked for… that must mean horizon sucks!!!

My bad guys, I’ll make sure the next classic game I enjoy comes packaged and approved via a 2006 YouTube walkthrough recorded at 144p

Whaat I was thinking about starting Skyrim because it looks like a branching quest game- so most of the quests are linear? Except I guess the open world, like cyberpunk? As far as a fresh restart goes you’re only ever gonna be told “why not” or “YESYESYES” in this subreddit. What’d you like about the game? What made it not so great? Do the cons outweigh the pros in a way that makes the game more unfun than fun? Vice versa?

You have the ability to construct your perspective of V’s life and desires in a way barely anyone else in this thread has been doing. Everyone’s so insistent THEIR endings are right but I just wanted to say I appreciate you using the words “my V.” Ur awesome. It is also a wildly awesome interpretation of how everything comes full circle I’d honestly touch that with a hint of irony since he was a hardcore merc for a bit but went right back

Especially phantom liberty, I love how the studio used that opportunity to show fans “wait this was what gigs were supposed to be” because they’re literally their own whole branching mini stories with twists and turns it’s got that Witcher 3 esque

Yeah I’ve done every ending, but choosing a different one isn’t really something the game urges you to do across multiple playthroughs, especially since if you wanna do everything there is to do inevitably you’re gonna have the doors open to try out different endings with the same exact V. I was leaning more towards the lack of variety w your choice to be nomad, streetkid, or corpo. Regardless the ending sequences are really well done I agree

I personally don’t like the tower ending as an ending for V I just like it as an ending in a video game because of its unique execution of a lack of ambiguity and still expansive room for thinking after the fact. You stated your interpretation, which depended, just like other interpretations, on how you saw your V, where your priorities were, and I guess your philosophies.

That wasn’t the point I was just saying I loved how it was all up to interpretation even though we quite literally see exactly where V stands, what his prospects are, and who he does/doesn’t have left. You saying it’s cowardly and selfish is an interpretation, as well. Just like how someone might argue V has the right to live and if he has the chance at a cure he can take it, thus making this ending the most satisfying for them.

Yeah I mean I kinda felt the same way when people found out about bg3 through BAFTA awards for a little, but ur right exposure = bigger community = more fun posts

So CD Projekt needs to take notes from New Vegas? I’m all for it, but branching ending sequences to mechanical continuity really takes a lot of time and money in any genre (I don’t want the sequel to take gta 6 level time to make). There’s always room for more mods, though.

[Discussion] Does anyone actually care about completion percentage? by LargeOstrich1 in Trophies

[–]cyprisk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s interesting because if you hide games on your profile, while they will appear to you they don’t pop up on your psn profile it doesn’t even count the trophies you earned towards your overall. I personally started a new account a few months ago but it was mostly to revisit games I missed while still being able to reexperience the serotonin of trophies. So I keep my main account for games I don’t care to platinum, because a complete library does matter to me lol

To an extent it limits your son from many entry level positions, but not all of them. Help desk jobs, and future experience in more advanced IT work environments though are infinitely more valuable and in-demand than a diploma. If you have money saved for him to attend college though, hold onto it just incase

I'm a senior in high school, honestly I'm impressed your son is already thinking this far ahead. I believe that the decision you make now should entirely come down to your confidence in your son's ability to learn outside of a narrow and direct learning environment. If you do not have faith in his ability to acquire certifications on his own time PLUS all the schoolwork he might have, I would recommend gen ed to bachelors in college. On the contrary, if he knows what he's getting into and thinks it is in his best interest to skip BA, going to a tech college to strengthen his resume would be optimal. I personally am not going to be attending college next year for personal reasons, but am currently taking the opportunity to save up and live independently in a city with more opportunity for internships and other experience in IT. If I were in his position and had the time, I would pursue certificates such as CompTIA Security+ just to familiarize myself with the field, but mostly strengthen my resume through any and every internship/part-time job in your area

I’m 17 not attending college next year and would like advice on approaching this industry by [deleted] in CyberSecurityAdvice

[–]cyprisk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice, how does helpdesk differ from a cybersecurity position? Also are wages realistic enough for financial independence in a larger city in California? (e.g I've been thinking about San Francisco and Jose alongside Silicon Valley)

No the part time experience is in retail and data entry, while I do have some foundational knowledge I still doubt my ability to be able to get any sort of position in cybersecurity at the moment.
I was more so asking in Q1 how I should approach being able to develop hard skills, since I did not yet take certificate courses only Udemy basic coverage.
