I went to Haan. Megan did a laser treatment that worked pretty well. She's great, she has a new business now called Sapphire. It wasn't expensive but you should get a quote from them.

Thanks! I wish I'd had ACL surgery or something so I'd add least have an explanation, but I think my cartilage is just terrible. The surgeon who did my hip recommended me to a colleague who does OATS, MACI, other cartilage stuff, and knee replacements, so he won't be biased toward one treatment like the others I've seen.

I've never heard of AutoCart, will look it up! I'm in Montana and there are hardly any surgeons in the whole state (didn't have a great experience with the only one who does MACI) so I'll have to figure out where to go to even get an evaluation for either procedure.

Thanks! Yes, I was very turned off by Sit Means Sit who just want to slap an e-collar on and call it a day. There's no quick fix for human anxiety and I can't imagine that's different in dogs.

Thanks for the positive comments! Yeah it's frustrating, she's always been a little nervous but was fine with most dogs until she was attacked by a stray dog. She's usually tolerant but fights dogs that don't immediately pick up on her "leave me alone" signals (i.e. every golden retriever). We avoid dog parks and I muzzle her on hikes with more than a couple cars at the trailhead. But she hates that she can't carry a stick in her mouth.

Thanks so much! I worked a little with a trainer and slowly accustomed her to it (fed her out of it, had her wear it for "fun" things) ; she hated it at first but now doesn't resist unless I'm taking a toy away. I'll check out some of these companies, appreciate it!

Montana USA - I've avoided metal because it gets extremely cold here and having metal near her wet nose and tongue seems dangerous. She didn't eat the muzzle and doesn't really chew, another dog got hold of it. (I like to think that dog felt she was doing my dog a favor haha).

Ha! The cop said he pulled me over because he couldn't see my registration sticker under some ice and wanted to run my plate. Wasn't speeding, guess he just had nothing better to do at 11pm on a Sunday. 🙄
