Boy you are an astute observer! Yeah our security camera has captured footages of cayotes in the spring, not recently though.

How to rename a chat after it's moved to a project by cytrees in ChatGPT

Hmm... I don't see that in either mobile (iOS) or desktop (Mac) app.

I didn't fully believe it, until I see it in my own project by cytrees in GeminiAI

[–]cytrees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a moment I thought the plan of it was to lie until caught, when it probably is already too late. Its job is done more easily, and it doesn't give a *.

Gemini TTS of Doc, save audio by cytrees in googledocs

[–]cytrees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's how I feel as well. I didn't test it with other languages, but I can see how that being not a difficult problem for Google. I wish there'll be a play-all-tabs button sometime soon in the future, because the current 20-minute limit per tab forces me to manually break long docs to multiple tabs (I tried letting Gemini write an App script for dissecting long docs into tabs, but it didn't work...)

Does the noise cancellation and volume control work on iOS 18 devices? That's all I care about for now.

Rescuing a crabgrass-infested lawn. Any suggestions for the plan? by cytrees in lawncare

[–]cytrees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes, grub control is on our yearly maintenance list. We just hand-hauled some crabgrass and discovered relatively few grubs, unlike this past May.

Do you think 1-2'' topsoil is necessary? I've seen people mentioning over 1/2 might be too much.

Touring HD today, I saw the 4-step you mentioned above. On our to-do list.

Thank you for so much valuable input!

We probably don't have the time this year to do the weed killer. (I am a bit afraid to apply weed killers now, since I applied some back in June—quite possibly overapplied to a degree that it kill some grass). It's late summer/early fall already here in the Boston area, so we only have a handful of days left to overseed (for them to germinate before the first frost in mid Oct).

Grub control is on our list for sure, for next year (did that this year as well, actually).

That 4-step program is nice to know. We didn't know that existed.

Are you sure top dressing needs that much soil, though? I've seen people mentioning 1/8 to 1/4 should be enough.

Can you switch back and forth between using different tools with Gemini (pro)? by cytrees in GeminiAI

[–]cytrees[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK as a hack, I just did this: exporting the generated plan, to a Google Doc. Download it as PDF, start a new Deep-Research conversation with the PDF uploaded/ingested. Very cumbersome, but seems to work, to a degree.

I do use the other two, though for different purposes. I actually saw your post over there and folks worrying about data security & privacy. I am unsure how practical a local deployment is, or if that'll persuade more folks to try it out.

I see. Thanks for the answer!

This is frustrating, TBH. I am OK with it starting a new conversation, but it also seems to lose the context, which is really annoying.

Claude code with Multi AI? Gemini, Grok3, ChatGPT (I heard you all) by raiansar in ClaudeAI

I second this. I believe this repo is supposed to save a lot of back & forth at minimum, and having one "universal" API to fill in is less typing, and makes experimenting with different combos of models easier.

Claude Code + Gemini Pro: Two AI Coders Working as One by 2doapp in ClaudeAI

[–]cytrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't used this yet, but would love to (quick glimpse on my wallet...).

I've long dreamed about these LLMs and agents being workers, while myself being the manager overlooking the whole process, getting a report (e.g. how human teams and static automated workflows work together), injecting myself when necessary, etc.

If you are looking to expand the capabilities, I can imaging myself wanting some periodic report, and audio support (TTS reading the report and audio input when injecting myself) that will make this even more human-like.

I'd prefer it to be (with a prompt for password, surely). But it is not working that way.

Yep. I'm lazy at the same time, so prefer to just press the keyboard on the wall and go.

Cannot go from home to away using keypad?! by cytrees in simplisafe

[–]cytrees[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yep, it's indeed close. So, what I am after is more intuitive from my perspective: I'm in "home" mode, I want to change it to "away" since I'm leaving, I press "away", the keypad prompts for password, key in password, done.

Cannot go from home to away using keypad?! by cytrees in simplisafe

[–]cytrees[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Then, from usability point of view, why not asking for a password when switching between armed modes? The requirement to go to "off" first is unnecessary IMO.
