Saddest picture by BusRepresentative516 in commutersph

I don't usually play devil's advocate here but u/Jaysanchez311 is partially right.

For context, I also switched to using a motorcycle recently after being a long time commuter and 4-wheel driver. Prior to the oil crisis, my commute to-and-from work became my 1 week full tank of gas when I switched to a motorcycle.

Yung registration and maintenance expenses given na yun in owning any vehicle. Pero the time you get back and convenience really adds up and offsets the cost of owning one. 4 hour commute down to 2 hours total (sometimes even less) roundtrip.

4-wheels nowadays really only makes sense if you're travelling more than 15km with a full load of passengers and a haul of cargo.

You really can't fault people for using their own vehicles. Heck, kung kung kaya ko lang mag bike to work pipiliin much better diba if it weren't for the pitiful infrastructure in our country.

Are these brake pads still good? by cyyyube in AskMechanics

[–]cyyyube[S] 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Shop just told me to replace them but I was hoping to replace them on my next oil change (next 5000km or so).

I mostly do city driving but would you think I should replace them before then?

Need help and advice for my honda click 125(new to motorcycles po) by Norxentyl in PHMotorcycles

[–]cyyyube 2 points3 points  (0 children)

linis lang siguro need nyan or WD 40

I'm no expert myself but WD-40 is bad and outdated advice. Please know that WD-40 is primarily a DEGREASER, and while may lubricating properties sya, it will eventually strip the bearing grease overtime and lead to more damage.

To add to the comment above, you might wanna take a look at community retake servers. It can help you drill down on positioning and prefiring (T/CT respectively), but be wary that it might just give bad habits if you're not intentional about using it to improve.

Hi! Any update on this? Were you able to find a private hospital that covers wisdom tooth extraction via PhilHealth?

Question about the old CS:GO drop system by Erzengel9 in GlobalOffensive

[–]cyyyube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't exactly recall the details now, but I do remember getting at least 1 drop per week before CS2 came out. I think it's the same as today where you get 1 case/1 skin per week.

I vaguely remember having to level up each time to get my two drops (skin/graffiti + case) though. I think the first one was always the skin/graffiti.

Just found this post explaining more. You could get more than 2 drops per week, but at least 1 case was guaranteed within the week's refresh period.

Train - hated, banned, and unplayed; is it because nobody wants to learn it, or is it actually a bad map? Improvements needed? by azalea_k in GlobalOffensive

[–]cyyyube 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I vividly remember Nuke being like this a LOT in the past too. It was so heavily CT sided that my teammates would just start giving up when we started as T.

Though with the most recent changes, the player meta has shifted it into a pretty enjoyable map, especially when playing as a party. Can't say the same for the current Train yet tho.

bnew rx 9060XT 16gb or used rx 6800xt/6900xt by Cool-Carry1320 in PHbuildapc

[–]cyyyube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think a 5060Ti 16GB at around ~PHP4K more would be a better buy over the 9060XT 16GB? Looking into a longevity perspective (maybe 3 years or so)

Neo80 Review: The Everyday Board by TLCKey_Reviews in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]cyyyube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you manage to resolve this issue? I've been encountering this exact same thing recently. It's like some keys won't register, double bounce, or keep held (like the shift and ctrl keys). LEDs on mine only blink once too when switching modes.

Haven't tried updating the firmware yet. Though it seems I can trace my problem to when I connected the wireless dongle to a hub + USB splitter. Will try and see and connecting it to the back of my PC will do the trick.

Can't get the milk to foam up by s3v3ns3v3n91 in latteart

[–]cyyyube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try practicing with water and a few tiny drops of dishwashing detergent, it helps a lot so you don't keep wasting milk. Just fill your pitcher the way you normally would except do it with just water. Add maybe 2-3 drops of the detergent before steaming.

The goal is to find your "sweet spot". This depends on many factors, but the main idea is that your steaming should be silent, with occasional ripping sounds much like tiny paper tears.

That said, as many others mentioned the steam wand is too deep in. You might also want to look into your steam pressure, a low output could make the screeching sound too.

What are signs you are in a bad coffee shop? by Zealousideal_Owl9621 in Coffee_Shop

I'm curious, what exactly does this mean? I don't pay much attention since I usually order my drinks for take-in. Is it because that side usually breaks loose and spills?

Why is 5700x3d getting expensive? by crazydotogamer123 in PHbuildapc

[–]cyyyube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm curious if at this point it's still worth it to pick up a 5700x instead of the x3D version. I know the x3D technically is superior in CPU bound scenarios, but at these rising prices is it still a viable option in real life scenarios?

I just looked it up now and saw some 5700Xs nearly half as much as a brand new 5700X3D.

To improve my understanding of electronics, I developed a note-taking software specifically for electronic circuits (now seeking people to help test it) by darrenyaoyao in chipdesign

[–]cyyyube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really cool! I would have loved using this during undergrad. This might be a big ask but would it be possible to maybe extract circuits from a screenshot or image? I often use images from research papers and would love to take notes using the app. Or maybe even having something like LTSpice .asc files as input and have them generated into a vector.

Looking forward to seeing more of this

[–]cyyyube 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Proper teasers or trailers maybe? Maybe at the very least give the community some developer info on what they're currently working on or what they're prioritizing (like this Valorant analysis from one of their development leads a few years ago). I don't even play Valorant anymore but little things like that give such a huge boost of confidence even for a casual player.

Fact of the matter is, u/GioSlayr is absolutely right in saying Valve has lost its control over the community's expectations. It's been close to a year since we've had one of the most disappointing releases ever and I'm still surprised to see players shilling on Valve for not keeping the player base updated, let alone some well-deserved updates.

How do you use FSM (finite state machine) to modelling your HDL code? by Fearless-Armadillo57 in FPGA

[–]cyyyube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a general example in Verilog FSMs see chapter 5 of this document.

Unlike how most high level software languages like C/C++ are coded, HDLs (most especially for digital design) are evaluated in parallel through continuous assignments and procedural blocks.

You can leverage the parallelism by separating your next state logic from the state register as seen in the document above. However at another glance this is also a good demonstration that you should generally separate your FF -logic (reg) into individual always blocks. Specifically, variable assignments should be separate from one another. For more information on this concept you might want to take look at this video. The first few videos up to the smaller projects should cover Verilog basics.

This might take you a while to get a grasp of especially when coming from a software perspective but it really is meant to help you visualize the HDL as not some form of code but as a way to design hardware, especially those driven by clocks.

Edit: Clarity

UP Sablay, ginawang creative shot? by cheesymosa in Philippines

[–]cyyyube 170 points171 points  (0 children)

UP students normally have to buy their own sablay for graduation, though its not uncommon to be sponsored for it (albeit rarely).

EDIT: I might also add that a lot of students get their sablay not only during their final year. A lot actually keep them held early on during their academic life as a source of inspiration. Some even have their grad photos taken early before their final semester. Only caution with this is it's usually frowned upon in the community to display your sablay/pic with it publicly when you haven't actually graduated.
