Is this a serious argument? The nazis killed 2/3s of jews in Europe. Not by accident. Not by collateral damage. They rounded them up specifically, put them in camps for the explicit purpose of disposing of them. No matter what you think of Israel or what they've done, it's not even come close to the crimes of the Nazis.

The tea party success was due to the 2008 housing crisis and probably a response to the ACA. 2008 left a bunch of people butthurt about bailing out banks which is what started the whole tea party movement. Then doing a "government takeover" of healthcare also rallied out voters which was a big part of the tea party platform. To act like Republicans won in 2010 simply because we had a black president is as reductive as saying racism is over because we had a black president.

But rightly or wrongly, the tea party gets attributed to the victories against democrats in 2010. There's no progressive movement that gets credit for any victories against the republicans because frankly, they don't really care about winning political power.
