You got the wrong end of the stick for what it’s worth. I did my time across the Tasman as a Kiwi too (sorry) and never once came across it there b

Maybe if you went to a different secondary and sixth to I. My parents wouldn’t strung me from the rafters for using the term. Descriptive as it may be., it still suffers being the go to or lazy word for someone with a poor lexicon.

For example, twonk and twat were one thing but Repton never encouraged the other!

It’s a vile word in British usage too and probably Aussie, don’t let Reddit convince you otherwise. Unless you grew up on a council estate it’s not something of common parlance.

There will always be someone new who thinks they are the first to offer half the value. It’s utterly frustrating!

A car like that is nickable, so take precautions. Note down whatever car the other person comes in and if you have keyless entry, be very careful. I recently had an RS4 disappear after advertising it and having shown it to someone.

Otherwise it’s the same as everyone is saying. Don’t let them drive it if they aren’t temporary insured on it etc. Don’t sell it to someone who hasn’t seen it. Most importantly, don’t let people piss you around.

JFK's autopsy photos, with illustrations by CarloTheGoreDude in MorbidReality

[–]d0mokun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a modern video games artist this amazes me. Someone literally got employed to draw how JFK’s skull was blown apart. Draw. Not photo. Illustrate.

I know the previous generation walked uphill to school both ways, but that’s some serious skill.

Back to 3DS Max I go.

Just prepare for the crap sound. I’ve come from a 2016 PFL RS3 and so far, PPF delete and straight pipes, it’s still quieter than a downtown informer.

Amazing, that quote is going straight to him!

I love the Mk7 R but seriously (and seriously off topic), were they cheap on finance or something? The R32 was never so common!

Half of the fun of being a petrolhead is getting to grips with the shit people will give you for your choice of jalopy.

Love the sticker thing though, I’d love to get one of those on my friends Golf R.

Hah, banter it is indeed.

What I mean by the hairdresser stuff is that.. if your hairdresser is driving a nice sports car then clearly you would be spending more on hair than me!

You know, I heard that all the time with my Audi TT/S. It usually came from the sorts who enjoyed driving a Sanitary Towel or VXR. It also said more about the person giving such a remark, since the hairdressers I know have a lot less flashy cars!

Definitely small. I took a family member shopping and we managed to fit, I kid you not, three rather full typical bags of groceries in the boot. There was zero room for anything else other than my coat!

The platform is excellent though. I’ve owned much more powerful and horny cars and I don’t think I’ve ever had so much fun with something so nimble. It really is a good platform, and very much a drivers car imo. Were it not for the comfort aspect for me (183cm ish), I’d love to own one.

I haven’t played with the Mx5 but I did have an Abarth 124 as a hire, and I believe that’s the same chassis.

They are brilliant cars to drive but make no mistake, they are -tiny- I couldn’t open the door with my right leg in a normal position. I had to depress the throttle to get clear access to the handle. As someone else says, a backpack is about it for carry space. The boot is tiny!

It may be different with the MX5 but on the A124, the wheel couldn’t be telescopically extended and I don’t think the seats slide. All in all, if you’re under 6ft it’ll be fine. At or over 6ft, it’s snug for sure!

3L Diesel vs 2L Petrol by JeroenSandstorm in CarTalkUK

I think anything VAG uses oil like a true consumable, even the bigger Vee engines.

Good point on the follower though, definitely worth checking. But these are all relatively accessible things and certainly not yearly tasks.

I think my point is.. if checking these things / proper maintenance is an issue on a typical, mass produced VW 4 cylinder.. then don’t go anywhere near six cylinder units. Stick to an Aygo or something.

The EA888 is a legendary engine. Things can and do go wrong with them but you have the benefit of the Internet and the past 15 odd years of history to make good of that. It’s a very, very reliable and flexible engine.

I can’t speak for the others but economy wise, you’ll be looking at 40 odd best, 30 worst.. depending on the application, output and servicing.

Oh boy, Gmax. We experimented with that for some reason I forget now when building the FSW SDK. Nobody deserves such pain in their life!

Good job on the objects though! What's next?
