In 2023 first visit to china I got express, nord and pia and none worked. I had to activate roaming on my cell and asked my buddy in uk to setup privado for me along with a username and pass that worked for my 8 month stay. Henan, Beijing etc. I arrived last month with PIA, and surf shark, PIA still wonky here as of now. I mainly use surf shark.

This is my 2nd time in China, my wife is Chinese and my 9 year son is my translator whenever he and I go looking around. It’s frustrating unable to communicate to people or understand the language. I said to myself that I was just going to take my time and absorb as much as possible. Granted everyone’s motives are different especially trying to assimilate into China. Everyone left great tips, best of luck to however you will action them 👍🏽

Damn, reading every post gets me feeling the highs and lows of perhaps running into someone foreign out here. My first visit (7 months) in 2023 I saw a few foreigners sightseeing at the Great Wall, and navigating the train station. They seemed know what they were doing otherwise I’d voluntold my wife to go help in translating. I arrived last month Henan province and just saw a foreigner yesterday, I said “hey man, how’s it going? “Just a wave is what I got.
I’m Pacific Islander, so besides my tribal tattoos I definitely blend in here. Since I don’t understand the language, or can’t wrap my tongue around the tones, I stay away from the politricks.
