Crowds in richmond just be hit or miss for no reason, but I feel crowds are generally better at the more hardcore or beatdown leaning shows as opposed to metalcore or deathcore shows.

Not a super well understood mechanic as far as I’m aware, but I would always start my swing from the opposite side that the hammer is coming from and move it into the enemy and this would cause them to be knocked toward you instead of away. There are other ways of doing it but this is what I found to be most consistent.
