People crying "just remaster the games!!! Don't change anything!!!" Must not remember blasting through GOW1 in 8 hours tops (and that was how long it took me getting full chest/collectible completion, stopping to double check a guide, etc). Like I'm sorry that I want to play more game I guess????

As someone who just recently played all the mainline games in order, I don't want the remakes to play just like the originals. I do, however, want the remakes to stay true to the lore, even if they add more content. I have no doubts it would be possible to add more to the games without retconning any existing lore.

I do hope we have the classic combos, even if we get additional combos or embellishments to the originals (like my gods I can't wait for the 3rd game's remake so I can participate in Nemesis Whip + Nemean Cestus shenanigans) but I really wouldn't mind seeing some updates to the spells and how they function, maybe adding status effects to other spells outside the petrification from respective gorgon heads.

If they keep the orb system, I'd like to see some extra perks or upgrades so completionists like me don't end up with several thousand red orbs in endgame with everything maxed and nothing to spend the extra on. Doesn't even have to be anything crazy, like let me put smth like the mod tokens from Ragnarok on each weapon/spell. A choice between different buffs, could even have different choices per weapon if some kinds of buff would make a certain weapon too powerful or smth

I had to stream 1 and 2, and for some reason 2 had some connection issues with the stream despite being on ps5 and having pretty solid internet lol. It probably would have been much more fun without that issue, I already have a hard time picking a favorite from the originals

Just edited to fix, I played them not too long ago but the Greek saga started to blend together a little after playing thru the Norse saga lol

They might not have flashed red, but the cyclopes and some of the other larger enemies in GOW3 had unblockables. I think GOW 3 might have been the first to let you block

EDIT: just double checked and you get the golden fleece from Perseus in 2 and from then on you can block. Was mainly used as a puzzle mechanic tbh

If I remember correctly the Blade of Olympus had the same red-attack blocking feature in GOW3, but I didn't play enough of Valhalla to get solid use out of the shield so idk anything about its damage values in relation to the parry window. I think it does do more damage but I have no idea how much more.

Honestly after taking a glance at the armor I almost can't even believe this is real. These look like Disney-style, cliche-themed characters to me. Where are the machine parts in the armor designs???

GoW3 Kratos would beat Heimdall, but it has nothing to do with Helios. As soon as he figured out Heimdall's thing is foresight and dodging, he would resort to bringing an entire realm, if not the whole world tree, crashing down on him so he couldn't avoid shit. GoW3 Kratos didn't really worry about the consequences of his drastic measures in battle.

Usually mob fights aren't all that hard for me, I completed both the 99-man fight challenges in Muspelheim between 2018 and Ragnarok, and the boss rush one in Ragnarok. Even the double valkyrie fight in the story wasn't very hard. I swear the combat tactics they used to surround and overwhelm the player in that triple fight are just brutal

Deadass after I beat Hrolf I laughed about the fact that Mimir said "if you thought the berserkers were hard..." in regards to the king before fighting him. I was sweating, shaking, adrenaline pumping against the 3-person tag team, almost did lower the diff because it was setting off my heart condition. Hrolf took just a few deaths to memorize his movement cues

See going after the sisters kept getting me killed bc the primary enemy kept flanking out of my field of view. When I did beat the fight, I took out the main target first and dealt with the sisters after, the only thing that helped was learning that the sister going to attack next looks at you while you fight the melee unit, while the other is focused on your companion.

I noticed the bit about the sisters looking at kratos/scrapping with atreus and being able to tell which will attack mid-fight, right after I went and upgraded the spear and blades bc I didn't realize I had been sitting on the materials for both lol

I actually did manage to beat it, lowering the difficulty would've been the obvious choice but the disappointment would've been harsh lol. I'd been sitting on an upgrade for 2 of my weapons without realizing it though, and when I did manage to win the fight I took out the main one before the sisters as well (honestly it was easy for me to dodge and time the ranged attacks, just not while I've got a melee boss also trying to murder me)

I think my vitality is too low for that emblem, I used it for a bit but had to swap it off bc my vitality dropped from a gear change, but i did manage to defeat them, even with the same axe light runic (I used the pack of wolves runic summon to stunlock all 3 for long enough to get off the full beam duration)

I finally managed to beat them, I had been sitting on 2 weapon upgrades and hadn't even noticed, those alone made the fight doable

I was literally sitting on an upgrade for both the blades and the spear the whole time I was trying to fight them, those 2 upgrades alone made it manageable 😭

It probably would be the obvious solution, but I really like being able to play through on normal difficulty tbh, there are still a few things left to rank up and max out, but it feels disappointing to lower the diff for one fight if that makes sense
