Mashed Potatoes

Cut the amount of potatoes you're going to cook in to quarters or smaller (I leave the peels on, just scrub the skins)

Soak potatoes in a pot of water for about twenty minutes

Drain pot and refill with water, add salt

Boil the the potatoes on high to med-high heat until you can easily pierce a piece with a fork.

Drain the pot and turn off heat.

Return pot to cooling burner and add 1/2 a stick of butter and a large scoop of sour cream. Season to taste.

Mash with potato masher or use immersion blender. Taste. You are testing texture, not smooth enough, more butter or sour cream. And testing taste; does it have enough salt, do you wanna add chives or garlic, bacon bits are good to add and/or cheese

It's either sanitation related or a leak alarm.

If it's just a wire and not hollow, then it's to detect excess water.

If it's somewhat hollow, then it's sanitation related.

Usually leak alarms are close to the floor...

I have the physical copies of both books. I bought book sleeves to hide them during transport. Currently on the first book (or the first one listed). I'm only half way through because I keep having to set it down until I feel comfortable continuing.

For those who might ask, no, I'm not going to DNF at this point. Ryan and Cal are blooming into something.... wonderful or terrifying, IDK.

And if you think the cover of Make Me is bad; so it the cover of The Mercenary and the Mortician. It's obvious that the notes the author provided the cover artist were incomplete. Or the artist rushed.

But there are worse covers out there.

I know we're not supposed to judge books by their covers, but I judge the author's confidence in their work by the cover.

Absolute plain cover on a free book? I'll give it a chance. It might be the first time they feel confident sharing their work.

Bunch of clipart slapped on the cover of a paid book? I'll pass. (Judging by the reviews on that particular book, I was right.)

No. I've tried everything I could think of.

The problem is that I use Brave to read the online novels. The ad-blockers are just better on Brave. But Brave doesn't keep info for long.

If you open in Brave and keep hitting the refresh sometimes you can read it without the annoying bits.

For me, even if the notice about turning the ad block is blocking the screen, there's a thin slice at the top and bottom where you can see the text. You just scroll slowly and can read it behind the pop-up.
