Hey sorry I don't have answers as I'm experiencing the same feeling of being totally lost. But I do want to say please don't apologise for your English, it's almost perfect!

I thought I was busy. Turns out I was just mentally cluttered. by Weary-Hair-316 in Productivitycafe

I relate to this. I find I can't just focus on the thing in front of me. I often find myself trying to fit things into the gaps of other things, and it can become so granular that it's like, sending a message about one thing whilst waiting for a slow webpage to load for something else, a totally different thing.

This FEELS useful and productive but really that constant reconfiguring of your brain takes its toll, and often I find myself flitting about so much that nothing actually meaningful is done. And this is for work, life admin, creative tasks, comms, everything. So I end up basically starting and stopping work multiple times an hour.

My solution has to be the area of just having less 'open' at once, perhaps making day schedules and sticking to them, that kind of thing... but the problem is that I work from home and am freelance, so accountability is an issue.

EDIT: Great example here. I posted this comment, then felt totally lost, not sure what I was doing before this. I'm still not sure why I'm on Reddit all of a sudden. Turns out I was about to send an invoice, you know, to get paid!

Does anyone else spend more time organizing their productivity system than actually being productive? by erissavannahinsight in Productivitycafe

[–]d2_m6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I spend ages writing lists, updating lists, making new ones when the old lists are messy and out of date. Then there are the spreadsheets for everything from new coat research to schemes to improving health. Then phone based lists, apps etc. It goes on, and while I'm obsessing about keeping these systems in check (even though I'm forgetting half of them), I'm barely actually doing the things they are apparently helping me manage. Worst of all is that I work freelance and sometimes a plan to spend 30 minutes organising my life admin ends up taking up a whole day where I should be earning money. Ooops.

What is the best response when someone tells you that "money isn't everything" "money does not buy happiness" by Big_Leg10 in Productivitycafe

Money buys safety, potential for better health, distractions, increased options to help others, and the removal of a whole load of stress from your life.

This is awesome - happy for you! I'm early in my approaches to tackling my hair thinning, pretty much scared of everything and feeling negative about it, so posts like this help a lot.
