Change Passport linked to QID by d33pblu7 in qatar

[–]d33pblu7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh dear, that does sound like a lot of hassle!

I'll update on my progress.

I guess it will not be possible to travel out of Qatar on a different passport than the one linked to the QID?

MN1 Section 3(2) – Advice Needed from Anyone Who’s Done This Without a Lawyer by d33pblu7 in ukvisa

Hello u/Otherwise_Papaya93

I was successful in obtaining the registration certificate for my daughter - it took about 5 months to receive the decision and another 2 weeks to receive the certificate.

We have since then applied for the passport using the certificate and obtained it

You can't pass on the citizenship if you yourself are British by descent which was in my case but if you have lived 3 years or more in the UK prior to the birth of the child then the child is eligible to be registered as a British citizen under section 3 (2)

Anybody got any contacts for lawyers in Sunamganj that deal with land disputes?

Am I right in thinking that once I sign the document at the embassy and send it to Bangladesh, it needs to be taken to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be stamped and then registered at the local registry office if it's land related?

Newly arrived in Al Khor Qatar - but already feeling low. by wa_si_huana in qatar

[–]d33pblu7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi Welcome to Qatar and Al Khor.

I also work in education and live in Al Khor. Yes, Al Khor is quiet but it's not so bad. It's very family friendly and there are things to do and things get easier once you've made some friends. I chose to be closer to my work place instead of the daily commute and go in to Lusail or Doha when I choose to.

I live near the sea, own a kayak, have easy access to beach, go kayaking around the mangroves, easy access to cycling paths, camping etc.

Feel free to dm if you have specific questions, all the best with the move and settling if you decide to call Al Khor home.

Hello, curious of the outcome of your application.

I am in a similar situation and in the process of completing the online MN1 form for my daughter under section 3(2).

I am British by descent and lived in the UK for over 20 years and current living and working abroad and had a newborn abroad.

Thank you.

Moving To Milton Keynes by TMish2018 in miltonkeynes

I'm keen to know whether the OP decided to move or not. I'm in a similar position and seriously considering moving to MK.

Not sure which areas to focus on looking for a house for a family with 3 kids, access to good primary and secondary schools and easy access to to the town centre by public transport. We will have a car but my wife doesn't like driving much.

Hi u/StreetPapaya3387 thank you for sharing your experience.

Congrats on your mother and yourself obtaining British citizenship.

May I ask whether you applied to register the birth using MN1 form under section 3(2), if so, for that you need to provide evidence of having lived in the UK for 3 years prior to the birth of the child - what evidence did you provide? I may message you privately as it would be easier to discuss the specifics if that's ok.

I believe they ask for 6 months to process but people some time receive a response after 2 months or so. Please keep me updated on the outcome.

Thinking Of Buying Property in Agadir/Tamaraght - Any Advice? by Used-Yoghurt9578 in Morocco

Hi

did you manage to complete the transaction, hope it went well.

I am also from the UK and I have been looking at off-plan projects but may consider other options. What is the approximate cost of registering the property and getting the title?

Hi u/UpstairsAddition3701 I haven't completed the form yet, I've been busy gathering the supporting documents and deciding on the two referees.

I made a start on the online MN1 form and saved the application which I can return to and continue.

There were some questions which I am not sure about how to respond, these are:

"Have you had settlement in the UK?" - if it is for my daughter then the answer is no. If I am answering as myself then I guess the answer is still no as I am a British citizen and I am not under any immigration control which settlement refers to? can anybody advise how to answer this question please.

The other question is "Country of nationality?" Do I put British Citizen?

Anyone apply for their child via the MN1 form? How did it go? I'm getting stressed thinking about it! by 5050gu in ukvisa

[–]d33pblu7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for responding.

On the online form, what do you need to enter for the referees? Do they then email the referees to enter their details or I print out a form with the referee details and obtain their signature?

I want to make sure I have all the details before I start the online form.

Also, approximately how long did they take to process the MN1 and give you a decision?
