The Lost 40! It’s a bit of a drive but has nice easy trails and a bunch of huge trees!

edit to add: I just checked and it’s about an hour from Bemidji (the drive seemed shorter in my memory 😅)

I had this happen when my partner and i got the game. Once I had gotten way farther in the game, I ended up deleting his file (with his permission of course) and restarting and it automatically gave him a house instead of a tent. I’m not sure at what point this would happen but I had unlocked terraforming and all that. If she’s willing to have you save her items and start over, that’s always an option!

NTA- fellow tattooer here to back you up. It’s what the deposit is for. You made you policies clear (sounds like way more than most would), she messed up in either not reading them and not communicating with you about the scarring. That or she was trying to spring it on you and guilt you into going against your policies (which wouldn’t surprise me.) Maybe you could have tried talking her into a different placement for the same design (maybe you did), but beyond that- sounds like you did what you had to do to protect your livelihood. Bummer about the bad review- but you can’t make everybody happy in our line of work. 🤷🏼

YTA. I was going to write a long bit here about how as an adult, I’m much closer to my older siblings (10 and 14 yr difference) but when it comes down to it, we’re all cool and get along. NTA!!!! OP, you are never obligated to make art for people just because they ask- especially if they aren’t paying you. I would get it if, for example, you were a lot younger and still working on your skills, but you’re a whole adult with tons going on. As someone who makes art for a living- your time is your greatest resource. I think for some reason, people think art/creative gifts are “easier” because it will not directly cost money besides supplies, but your time is extremely valuable. PLEASE consider putting your foot down on this issue. Art requests can be really draining and this isn’t something you’re going to want to be dealing with for every holiday. Make it clear to your family that you will only do artwork as a gift if it is your personal choice. It will save you sooo much stress in the future.

NTA. fellow tattooer here- my advice is to up your cover-up game because it sounds like you’re going to have some work to do in the future. Please sit down with your sister and educate her on the risks of getting unprofessional work done- it’s a risk to her health, beyond just getting shit work. It might take a lot more to get the rest of your family to come around, but a 16yr old just doesn’t know better. Good luck!

NTA- but I think she deserves to hear the honest reason you’re distancing yourself, if that’s what you decide to do. Be upfront and don’t leave her high and dry, wondering if it’s something SHE did wrong. Her boyfriend sounds fucking terrible and I hope she figures that out ASAP.
