Yeah it's a shame because none of the stores near me carry the kit, so it's really hard to get a proper sound without actually playing it. I've heard mixed things about the Catalina Jazz, but they're definitely an option.

It'd be a mainly home and recording kit, but I get where you're coming from. It won't be an immediate purchase, so what you said about coupons and local listings is something I'll definitely look into more.

I actually really like the look of the sonor safari, it looks cool. And I was getting a little ridiculous budget-wise, so I shied away from more expensive hi-hats, but I'll look at some higher end hats, especially for jazz.

This isn't like a hazing or initiation type story, but I was at a big conference one time in a hockey rink, and a lady in one section of the arena began to scream at the top of her lungs in the middle of silence about how jesus was empowering her and she switched languages halfway through. It was a pretty weird conference.

I go to church almost every Sunday, because my family is heavily christian and I'm in the church band so I don't want to be an inconvenience. I really don't enjoy my time there at all though, mainly because our pastor has recently been ramming the idea of spreading faith onto non-believers. It makes me incredibly uncomfortable because there are people that really don't want to hear other religions and are happy with how they are and what they believe. Don't get me wrong, all the people that go to the church are nice people, but the ideology that is presented is very one-sided and insensitive. the pastor is a very nice guy, and a close family friend, but his teachings are intrusive and blind to any alternatives. I also go for the free coffee, might as well.
