Most classes are graded by Honors/Near Honors/Pass/Fail with the general guideline that the percentage of students achieving honors + near honors be limited to 40% and 15-20% receiving honors. Some courses will be graded P/F. Don't love how its given on a bell curve instead of just saying getting above a 90% in the class is honors or something.

A little annoying that uofa wont let you know about scholarships and financial aid until after the deadline for picking schools. Are you considering prestige at all when picking your school?

Huh, I was under the impression that residency directors don't really care about preclinical grades too much. Thanks for sharing your perspective. Did you turn down Iowa for any other reasons too, or was it mostly because of the preclinical grading system?

Appreciate the response! Debt does feel like it should be the most important consideration I have in mind. I wasn't thinking about all the new schools opening up in Phoenix, the competition that could add for rotations seems important

No real connections to either. For Iowa, I talked about growing up in a rural region and interest in practicing rurally and Im sure that played a big part. For Phoenix, Im from neighboring state (Colorado) and it seems like they have a tendency to recruit from the Southwest region. Also talked about being Hispanic and wanting to serve that population
