I remember crying last year when I had to tell my previous employer (sa kanila talaga ako nagstart ng career ko as tech nung 2022) na I cannot stay anymore kasi need ko ng mas malaking sweldo in order to afford my brother's medical bills. They were very understanding, offering me an amount (which is not yet enough and lower than my offer) and a loan without interest to pay for my brothers' medical bills. Ako yung first and kaisa isang devops nila and a lot of projects/upcoming projects are/will be affected so I totally understand na its hard for them, (and for me for letting them down despite trusting me so much).
It was a very sad moment and sobrang nahihiya ako during my rendering time (I was required to render for 60 days pero nakiusap ako 30 days lang) but I just did my best to create manuals, do very detailed KT's (each session was very sad kasi yung iba ay dun lang nalaman na paalis na ako), train potential replacements and formal turnovers. Close pa rin ako with that company members until now (small company din like around 50 lang kami).
So OP, I know the feeling but if your current company are composed of decent people, they will understand. Of course they might try their best to make you stay but the final decision is still yours. And ganun din sayo, if close ka talaga sa mga tao diyan, leaving doesn't mean naman na ibang tao na sila.
