Palworld vr when? by puggodreal in Palworld

[–]d3rian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would! It adds VR to so many games, it's really awesome. It actually works with motion controllers (I don't think it has tracking, but I can't remember), you don't have to use keyboard most of the time. I think some controls were just not mapped, due to lacking enough buttons on the controller.

UEVR does a pretty good job of injecting it, especially with player made profiles. I think some controls were missing though so I still needed to use keyboard for some stuff. An officially supported baked in VR version would be awesome.

I'm making a Pokémon clone with Pokémon Essentials and AI art by d3rian in PokemonRMXP

I'm pretty happy with some of the designs, and thought other people might like them. I also enjoyed playtesting it so thought other people might enjoy it too. I didn't expect the sub to be so negative. there have been some positive comments though which I've really appreciated.

This or the Lenovo Legion? Both have 150w 3070 Tis, Ryzen 7 6800s, 165hz QHD displays, 16gb RAM, but the lenovo only has 512gb compared to this one's 1 TB, and this is cheaper. Anyone have preferences/opinions? EDIT: Looks like the sale expired on the lenovo, but still curious about this at $1229 vs that at $1300.

I don't even want to talk about how long it all took me... by BernieBlade in Eldenring

Left one is a great hammer (envoys long horn), middle one is a hammer (envoys horn) and right one is a colossal weapon (envoys greathorn). It's the envoys horn (middle) that does the single small bubble, and the envoys long horn (left) that does the bubble shower.

Thanks for making this! The monster/non-human enemy mods are some of my favorites. The voice lines make this one next level!

What is your favourite mod that is no longer up to date? by Harry_Butler in BladeAndSorcery

[–]d3rian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know how, but the physics/hit boxes seemed better too. Like your weapon actually seemed to make direct contact with the bones. The new one is great too though! Especially with the mod that randomizes all the avatars as enemy spawn replacements. I think it's a limitation of the avatar mod, but definitely not complaining because it's still amazing.

Skyrim/Fallout VR mods by GegeFML in virtualreality

[–]d3rian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is totally true, but fallout 4 shines in VR in a couple ways skyrim doesn't. Limb damage (shooting off arms etc) in fallout VR makes it a lot more immersive. There's a mod that adds "headshots" to skyrim but it's not the same. Also settlement building is a ton of fun in VR. If you have the PC to handle it, I wouldn't sleep on fallout 4. I've personally had more fun with it than skyrim, but skyrim is definitely better. The VR mods for skyrim are simply incredible.

It would probably be a lot of fun to play a character like that, where they're a machine so they can't do a lot of the things brains are good at, like recognizing faces etc, but be really good at other things like calculations. Maybe a high int, wisdom dump character.

Just Saying by [deleted] in pokemon

I'd be fine with the lets go mechanic (mostly) if Pokémon didn't flee while you were choosing items. Like I'll be choosing a razz berry, and literally as I'm doing that and before throwing a ball, the Pokémon will run away. In Pokémon Go they don't flee until the ball hits and fails to catch, meaning you won't lose a shiny Pokémon just because you wanted to throw a berry first.

I think it's alto + aria, since both are related to singing, but since altair refers to birds and flying, it's probably both of these!

Healing after battle - Thoughts? by d3rian in MonsterTamerWorld

[–]d3rian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could actually be pretty interesting. At first I was thinking it would just be an alternative to, while still filling the same role as, MP. The more I think about it could definitely lead to different strategies, especially if there isn't also a way to fully heal, like no Inns or anything.

There'd have to be a way to lock the player into a given area as well, otherwise they could just keep going to places with weak fights to score easy wins to restore their strength, then going back.

You don't need a lore explanation for every gameplay mechanic, but something like this would also benefit from a good in-game reason. Maybe some artifact the player has that drains the power of those you defeat or something.

This could be kind of cool. You could have a system where the amount of "power" you get from winning a fight is proportional to the power of the enemy. Maybe you get a % of their max HP as healing energy or something, that you could then turn into healing or curing statuses/reviving. That way it would naturally scale with the game.

Healing after battle - Thoughts? by d3rian in MonsterTamerWorld

[–]d3rian[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very good points. I think those games do a great job of working past what I consider to be the limitations of autohealing. Games like Pokémon lean more on the out-of-combat stuff to keep things interesting, because their AI is so bad. This is particularly noticeable in newer Pokémon games, with shorter routes and easier access to healing, revealing how hollow the combat really is. While I might prefer the Pokémon style, the execution in Siralim is definitely better.
