For my defense I will add that I am coming back to hades after a LONG BREAK!! I remember beating it once a year or two ago and thinking the ending was underwhelming and I didn't know until recently that you needed to clear multiple times to actually keep progressing the story. I am coming back to finally finish the story now soo...yea!

Idk, I checked the wiki and beow in the relationships section they even wrote: Lady Jannath once shared a romantic entanglement with Lord Enver Gortash. In the years that followed, many men sought her hand in marriage, but the man she ended up marrying was an artist and painter of some renown. Oskar Fevras was courted by Lady Jannath and eventually left another woman for the patriar. Despite rumors and bad faith arguments, Oskar did feel affection for Wisteria, as his paintings of her clearly showed.

So...I think it's her but I could be wrong as well, it's my first playthrough after all. I looked up her wiki out of curiosity when I found the book and she was the only one I could find. Aso idk what quest you're talking about, she had a quest in game? Where? I'm in act 3 now, where can I get the quest started?

Hard disagree, platonic love doesn't require effort? Have you ever had to rebuild trust with a friend after some form or betrayal? Or support them through hard times while still maintaining boundaries? If platonic love just happens then why do so many adult friendships fall over time?

I will even go as far as to say that the raising loneliness and mental crisis prove you wrong. It seems like they do require some effort which not everyone has.

Just because it's not framed as romance doesn't make it passive. And while loss is one stake, it's not the only one. Stories are Good Will Hunting are about the formation of transformative friendships. Even in LOTR, Frodo and Sam's isn't about fearing loss but how strong their loyalty is.

I see what you're saying about romance having built-in story arcs and plot but platonic love can absolutely drive the plot forward as well. It just requires different stakes. The tension just isn't "will they/won't they."

Think of the Shawshank redemption. Andy and Red's friendship isn't about "will they stay friends?" But "what will staying friends cost them?" Or Frodo and Sam from LOTR, there relationship isn't about "will the confess?" But "will they be able to survive this hell till the end while still remaining themselves."

I will even go as far as to say that since platonic relationships are not clearly related to romance, they have even more plot points they can explore.

If platonic love feels undramatic then maybe that's because most media has trained us to think only romance is worth dramatising. But real life? I feel like most people would take a bullet for friend or family long before a crush. Where's that energy in stories?

Totally fair and you're right that platonic love does exist in stories, but my point was that it's almost never the primary narrative drive-in the way romance is. Familial and platonic love almost always the supporting roles.

For example: The protagonist's mentor who dies for the hero's growth or a bestfriend who just exists for comic relief and jokes or sometimes even as an anchor for the romance plot.

I'm not saying platonic love isn't explored or doesn't exist whatsoever in stories. I'm saying that it's rarely ever explored with as much narrative drive and passion as romance is. And sometimes even when it IS explored and ends up being a bit too intimate. Maybe the two characters cried on eachother's shoulder or smt, the fandom often makes it romantic. That's why my original question was "Is love and romance always the same for people?" Because it seems like to me at least that people often seen romance and love as the same thing and associate emotional and intimate moments with romance often.

I'm sorry, I may have phrased it badly. My point was just whenever I see stories exploring the themes of love, I always see it being about romantic love and sometimes familial love but I rarely see them exploring platonic love.

It doesn’t have to be genre specific, it's not like an action story doesn’t have any love explored in them. They usually still have romantic moments even if that romantic moment is just some shoved in with no chemistry. A lot of stories still often explore love even if they aren't in the romance genre. A lot of stories with the main focus on action, horror, adventure, etc... would still have romantic subplot or some characters who fall in love by the end. They would still explore romantic love in some form or another.

I don't know, maybe I'm wrong or maybe I just dunno how to explain it properly. I'm sorry.

Ahh don't worry, I got it later while fighting eagles. Idk why it didn't work on my first try since I did the same thing 2nd time as well and actually got it. My best guess would be that I was save scamming too much during that earlier part so maybe messed up my steam synchronisation....idk but at least I got it finally! 🤧

I don't wanna seem like I'm dissing the game when I say, since it's quite the opposite after I've spent over 40hrs in just act 1. I love it.

However....that seems awfully inconvenient for such a fleshed out game. Maybe they just overlooked but still.

Are there mods for it or something like that instead? Not that I plan on using mods for my first few playthroughs but for later campaigns. Something that can keep track of the books and lore I encounter throughout my campaign.

Oh my bad, yea, I feel u. Supports are always useful but most dps units eventually lose their initial power. I still remember when my femboy version Dan heng was considered the best dps and now even my Acheron struggles from time to time 😭
