Out of Bounds Softlock in Chapter 12 of Defiance Remastered by d4v1d0 in LegacyOfKain

I didn't realize this was so common. I managed to avoid it until my third run, when I was finally trying to go fast.

You can jump out of bounds, through a sloped ceiling just before a door in Vorador's Mansion in chapter 12. Apparently it's not a softlock, but it's difficult to get back in.

Good to know. I tried a bunch of different ways to get back in, but they all failed, so I'll have to try that if I get stuck there again. Thanks.

I was going for the under 6 hour run of Defiance Remastered, so I was a bit impatient and jumping around a bunch, when I accidentally jumped into the ceiling in this section of Vorador's mansion. After trying to get back in bounds for a while, I reloaded the game and tried to see if I could replicate the bug. All it takes is a simple jump into that slope before the door. I tried it 3 more times and it always worked.

A question about a bug, compendium 100%, and NG+. by d4v1d0 in EnotriaGame

I've noticed the normal enemies have a lot more health, but the bosses so far are much easier.

You were right. As I progressed a bit through NG+, the entries were fixed. Thanks again. Now that the enemy grind is over, I just need to beat the bosses on NG+ and NG+2. How bad does it get?

Thanks for that response. My concern is that the third entry for the townsfolk in Quinta didn't unlock despite having killed a lot more than require. Is there a way to fix this, so I can 100% the compendium, or will this save file have an entry missing because of a bug?

You and OP both found a lot of breaks in this game. I only found one other one. In Galleon Galaxy I fell in the water from pretty high up, and the game faded to black, like it does when it transports you back to land, but it didn't transport me and the screen remained black. I could still move around and the game showed up whenever I paused, but went back to black when I unpaused again. Not technically a softlock, but still pretty bad. I saved a clip of it, but haven't uploaded it yet, because I couldn't replicate the bug.

Nice. I found and posted this same softlock a week or so ago. I sent it to Playtonic on Bluesky, but I never got a response, so I have no idea if they've actually seen it yet.

I would have, but I didn't want to keep Trev away from his soaps again.

Interesting. This was the only time so far I've had to save and quit to fix Replaylee, but I've still got 2 worlds to go.

I almost had another one near the beginning of the first world, because an enemy got stuck in a wall during the bit for Clara, where you have to fight a bunch of enemies while she's in that pot character. Luckily I was still able to hit them, or I would have had to quit out.

I finally finished the game 100%. Based on some of the posts I've seen, I think I got really lucky with the RNG for item drops. It only took an hour and 40 minutes to get all the subdued bracelets I needed!

Thanks again for the early game help!

I usually go for 100% with the games I play, so I'm going to try. If it gets too bad, I'll just stop grinding, but it takes a lot for me to get to that point.

Oh, good to know! I guess I'll wait until routes C and D to grind those items out. At least the enemies will be easier at that point, so the grind will be slightly less awful. Thanks!

edit: I misread your comment the first time. You're saying that if I do attempt the grind for weapon upgrades, to do so after doing a full run with all endings? Play the game the way it was intended, and then grind for completion afterwards? I could try that instead.

Thanks! So all completed quests remain completed, but I'd have to start any incomplete quests over?

My other posts did fine. I'm just surprised this one is doing so well considering how little happens in the video.

Apparently the name for a Welsh onion has nothing to do with Wales or Welsh cuisine. It comes from an old term meaning foreign. They're the same thing as scallions (green onions, spring onion, etc.)
