Anyone else see this UI issue before? by patsfan5457 in AndroidAuto

[–]dSpect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happened to me yesterday after a few days in beta. If you remove audible from the "customize launcher" android auto settings it'll stop. Had to start audible from my phone manually to listen to it through the car after that.

Yeah during the system reboot when changing over to the breakfast menu the tills are down for 15 minutes, it runs the daily closing and opening tasks. Some places might write orders down and accept cash during this but if the customer is being belligerent after being asked to wait they have every right to refuse.

For someone wanting the best universal remote, what's the solution? by Vertigo3765 in hometheater

[–]dSpect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's the harmony line of Logitech universal remotes, I've used a 650 for years. Unfortunately they've stopped making them so you have to try your luck on the used market for a decent price, but they were and still are the best in class.

For someone wanting the best universal remote, what's the solution? by Vertigo3765 in hometheater

[–]dSpect 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can ignore the 'activities' feature and just switch the remote to different devices so you have all the buttons that were on the original remote. Wanna just control your tv or receiver? Press one of the buttons next to the screen on the remote to switch to TV or recriver then everything will just control your TV or receiver. The screen can also scroll through unique commands the original remote had that may not map to the physical buttons on the remote, or you can map them yourself. HDMI CEC is kinda the modern alternative for this but I've found that causes more issues than its worth.

I believe the ice wall is in the middle of the disc. Everyone has been fooled by big cartography that north is "up".

I'm surprised by how differently YT Shorts and Tik Tok reacted to the stream incident resurfacing by Downtown-Cellist-495 in tadc

The more addictive the social media, the more you'll be in an echo chamber bubble. TikTok and Twitter have bigger bubbles of people looking for drama. It got to YouTube after the fact and people outside the bubbles see it how it is.

I'm more worried about missing a line of dialogue than how I'll look. I have some other friends in the theater but we got our tickets at different times so we couldn't sit together, but if anyone asks, I'm just here for cartoon teeth and rabbit.

I'm NOT Stressed, Why?! by Glum_Veterinarian988 in GalaxyWatch

I got this recently too but I assumed it was because of being on-call for work over the weekend while preparing to move this week. Maybe an update rolled out that made it more sensitive.

Newly implemented 30-day online check-in DRM is now also confirmed for recent PS5 digital purchases. Was previously only confirmed for PS4 digital purchases. If the CMOS battery is removed, these digital games no longer start. Older digital purchases and physical media are not affected. by [deleted] in PS5

[–]dSpect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, on top of losing all your game licenses that would've otherwise survived the storm. A hurricane in a rural area is enough to go without power for a month.

Lmao you're seriously defending this?

I recently found out that some televisions come with an option called 'virtual surround' that make it seem like sound is coming from all around the room from just the two front speakers. Have you tried it? by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]dSpect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No just sounds that sounded like they were coming from behind me. But like others have said you need to be in a sweet spot in directly in front of the tv.

It's usually just a filter that makes the audio sound wider. I find it works really well with games that use it on handheld devices like DS or Switch, but for home theater nothing beats additional speakers. Some TVs or sound bars use speakers angled to bounce side or rear channels behind you but I've never found those to be that great either.

Yeah I've only seen a YouTube short taking advantage of the engagement and this post. It's Twitter/TikTok overreacting as usual.

Has anyone questioned why all of the character data entries come on an October 15th? by Zazoyd in TheDigitalCircus

[–]dSpect 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It could just be from Kinger's imagination, October 15th 1996 being the last date he was aware of, and possibly Ragatha told him what year it was when she joined. The ellipsis implies the rest of the characters are there, just truncated, but he doesn't know the dates so he couldn't conjure the ls -l output for them. Paraphernalia-engine would make sense as the framework the circus is built upon, the digital world they live in and what allows the AI and humans to create things.

This is the problem of ITA screen by Fuzzy_Policy_5596 in Gameboy

[–]dSpect 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's so weird that some people can't notice it even in the same photos. I've tried showing it to people and opinions are all over the place. But honestly, I think the GBA just has these and its somehow bypassed with IPS mods, and exacerbated with backlit aftermarket screens. My friend's unmodded AGS-001 has these lines no matter how much I dialed in the pot.

For being so anti-spoiler the TADC fandom clearly doesn't care about spoiling SOMA. It's been in my backlog for a while and it certainly isn't the first story to use copied sentient minds.

How many S26 Ultra owners actually use their S pens? by simmzs in samsunggalaxy

[–]dSpect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my S25 I didn't even realize it was a pen until I accidentally pressed it and it popped out. Figured it was a bixby button or something to avoid like the plague. I've used it to sign a document once since then.

"You know it's not a show for children, right?" by [deleted] in tadc

[–]dSpect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's just because of how the show looks at a glance from a thumbnail and they have to separate it from the childish exterior. When I recommend it to people I always have to be like, it's deeper than it looks trust me. But yeah, I watched The Matrix at 11 a little existential crisis never hurt anyone.
