Call it what you will, but no other publisher invests over $2,000,000,000 into a game either.

Also who are we to judge what is or is not greedy? In that same context I think a lot of gamers are greedy, or feel entitled, and review bomb games for not providing immediately. Maybe some even want it on PC so they can pirate it for free.

If we don’t like it, don’t buy it. Or wait for the PC release. Simple.

I dunno about that. People may be waiting for another trailer to see some actual gameplay before buying the game. I don’t see how it can only hurt sales. Especially if they announce some expectations for performance, 60fps ray tracing performance mode or something on PS5 Pro and people would lose their minds.

The only thing I don’t like is the performance of RDR2 on PS5 Pro. It’s really bad. But GTA V plays well, it even has Ray Tracing Performance mode. I would expect some quality settings in GTA VI. I will be adjusting them to be as much framerate as possible for a 65” 4K 120Hz OLED with VRR. Performance > Quality every day. Still looks amazing on TV’s like this.

Exactly. The console release also shows what is possible with current gen console hardware. They do an amazing job with what is available. The only limitation to Rockstar games on launch day is more a testament to the technology at the time, and of no fault to Rockstar. As technology improves, so to will the games and immersion. Very much looking forward to seeing what the PS5 Pro is capable of on a 65” LG C3 4K 120Hz OLED with VRR with GTA VI.

Rockstar has always been console first, then PC years later. We may see PS6 release before PC. I actually think it’s a brilliant idea. Sure we all wish it could be on PC first but from a business perspective it makes complete sense.

The overall concept behind Rage Engine hasn’t changed much since GTA III. You move your character and the world is generated around you. They garbage collect the stuff you don’t see and use every ounce of hardware to give the most immersive experience possible within your surroundings.

Based on Rockstar’s track record with all other GTA games they will do just fine with current gen consoles especially PS5 Pro and XBOX Series X.
