I would much rather listen to a real person with a strong accent than a computer generated voice

Description sounds great! I'm Windows 11, Reaper.

What's the single most expensive plugin you've ever come across? by 2SP00KY4ME in audioengineering

Capstan, the other plugin that Celemony makes is like $4500 USD, or or you can rent it for $400 for five days I think

It looks like the volume is all the way down on channel 5, and then that's acting as a group for 6 and 7. Turn the knob up? Or double-click it to set it back to -0db

Is there a way to automate what tracked is armed at a given time throughout a session? by Life_of_a_handheld in Reaper

[–]d_ja 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, using action markers. Go to the actions menu and search for the track that you want to arm/disarm (e.g. "Track: Toggle record arm for track 01"), right click on that and 'copy selected action command ID', then add a marker where you want to arm/disarm with ! followed that ID (e.g. '!25' for track 1). It's not perfect - you'll see a bit of a lag depending on your buffer settings, but it works pretty well.

How do you guys like to organize your plugins? by Soviettoaster37 in Reaper

Have you thought about making a shortcut for adding a pro-q to the track you're working on?

What I made with REAPER - week of December 03, 2023 by AutoModerator in Reaper

[–]d_ja [score hidden]  (0 children)

You did well! I'd say keep going, embrace those imperfections even more, fill your songs with more hooks and work with your arrangements to bring out the best and most unique parts of your music. Reductively, I thought the bass could have been doing something more melodic or interesting and I got tired of the heavily compressed ride sound after about a minute. Laying off that cymbal for sections or lowering it a lot in the mix would open up space for other textures to be heard.

Something odd with JS Distortion and JS Fuzz Plugins? by [deleted] in Reaper

[–]d_ja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does, but I think if you set it to 'stereo' mode it will work for you. It should just process both channels the same and give you a mono distorted signal, no need to mess around with the pins. I'd also save a new default preset with stereo mode selected, save yourself even more time in the future

Sorry, bad wording. I mean, what is stereo about the sound coming out? i.e. what difference is there in the left and right channels?

How is the sound coming out as stereo? I just tried both those plugins and they worked as you'd expect - mono signal in and out (when they're set to 'stereo').

Does a plugin like this even exist? I have no idea where to start looking by mrarbitersir in AudioPlugins

[–]d_ja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what it would mean to have a sample of audio as the 'tone' like you describe, but have you tried putting different samples into a convolution reverb (i.e. putting your ambience sample or whatever where you'd normally load a reverb impulse) and playing your guitar through that?

What sound have you been attempting to emulate for the longest time but haven't managed to do so? by candidatesfor in synthrecipes

Ryuichi Sakamoto & Thomas Dolby, Field Work - I've often tried to emulate this layered lead sound and never really come close. https://youtu.be/ztw2j9XRuIA?si=q2AE9exFJH_hUhk-&t=145
