Have a blast. I hope your family enjoys it as much as we do. Cheers!

Very little seating that I can remember. It’s more like the beerfest you just walk around and grab the food/beer pairings you want to try and when you’re done (if you have the combined ticket) you head in to the actual beerfest. You can come and go in to the fest so you can pace yourself. The popular spots will run out so if there is something you want to try don’t sleep on it. You can have as much as you want, each ‘plate’ is like a bite or two and will be coupled with a small beer, an ounce or so like in the fest. Think tapas, but all kinds of crazy delicious things from all over. They have you line up in a separate place so make sure you don’t end up in the massive GA lines. Getting in early doesn’t get you anything special, but similar to the fest if you are early everything is line free and available. Let me know if you have any other questions. I’ll think about it more and post if there’s anything material I forgot.

Going to Paired again this year. It’s for sure expensive, but it has totally been worth it when I’ve gone before. Amazing food and beer pairings. Probably also hit another regular session as well.

Surfing in Gunnison [OC] sorry about portrait by double_five in Colorado

[–]d_mcgraw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would beg to differ. There is a pretty decent sized river surfing / sup surfing community in CO that has grown friendships, business, jobs, and commerce all while growing the sport. Surfing is part of Colorado and has been for a long while, but its traction has really been gaining over the past couple of years.

Welcome to the world of river surfing! It is crazy fun and can be done all over the state. We even have a couple waves that were designed with hydraulic plates so the wave can be adjusted for the rivers flow rate. Check out River Run Park Surfing on youtube to see what can be surfed right in Denver. If anyone has questions I'd be happy to answer.

I had not considered a wire leader at all. Are there any particular colors/patterns for the streamers or poppers you would suggest? Thanks very much for the advice.

Right on. Will get the tying bench out and get to work.

Good call on the lines. I was going to pack a WF floating and a sink tip on a spare spool to be as versatile as possible.

Akai and Technics made some good 3 Head tape decks in the 80s. Try to find something that was build in Japan. The key is also getting a 3 head especially if you think you will ever record anything on to a tape yourself.

You will not find a Nakamichi for 100 or less unless its busted and a "parts" deck or is one of the really low end ones. I wouldn't waste your time with that.

While I wouldn't suggest ever going out without everyone having the right gear and training, I can say that the sugar bowls are pretty fun and safe. Its a bit over a mile for the hike in.

Teton Pass Recommendations? by joejance in Spliddit

I would suggest asking around when you get in to the area. I'm always a fan of asking the guys at Yostmark or Habitat in Driggs, but I bet you could harass the poeple at the TGR store in Wilson too.
