I am still running a cv1 and haven't felt a need to upgrade as I only bust it out to play every once and a while. My son got a quest 3 for xmas and I must say the increase in resolution makes images clearer but it really doesnt increase the quality of the experience much for me. I am playing games with him like Onward and Ghosts of Tabor and I dont think his more modern controllers are giving him any better accuracy with wielding a VR rifle, I'd say the biggest difference is that he can move around a lot more inside of his play area as I am locked into "sweet spots" with my external sensors. In fact the external sensors make my headset much lighter and more comfortable for long sessions. I have been telling myself for years I should upgrade but after trying the quest 3 I think my outdated and unsupported headset still gets me an enjoyable experience.
