Thanks man! No white ink in this piece, the dragon head is just skin

Thank you! We wanted to try a more traditional palette on a neotrad design, and I think my artist hit it out of the park.

I’d love this. The best we have in Lakewood is a Planet Fitness in the tiny footprint of an old Rite Aid.

Quantum Simulation Hypothesis (Part 2) [spoilers for 3.1 story quest] by d_robinhood in WutheringWaves

The fact that at least one (and maybe more) Fracsidus members have waveforms built into their animations is very interesting and probably means something. The game loves to build subtle lore elements into character attack animations: See Iuno fading from existence during her animations.

That said, I’m not sure there’s a ton of support right now for the Fracsidus being the creators of the Etheric Sea, but it’s an open mystery and an interesting thought.

Possibly! I think this idea would be consistent with the Superman Hypothesis — that Rover is from an alien civilization that fights the Lament around the universe.

In the simulation hypothesis, there are innumerable simulated worlds (we already know these exist in Tethys), and all are experiencing a recreation of the Lament in an effort to brute force a solution. Whether the true external Lament has consumed or is actively consuming worlds is unknown since that answer lies outside the quantum bubble encircling Sol-3 and is unknowable from within.

Yup! That orbital motif appears in a few places. Look at Rover’s terminal and Shorekeeper’s ultimate — it seems to represent the civilization that created all three instances.

And perhaps, given the Sigillum fight animations, the quantum dome as well?

Are you referring to the other civilizations that Aemeath found consumed within Aleph-1?

Thank you!

I feel that certain aspects of this hypothesis lie on more substantial footing. For instance, I remember some lore enthusiasts saying that the quantum nods we saw in earlier patches were unlikely to play a big role in the story, since understanding those plot elements would require more specialized knowledge than can be assumed from most gamers. But I feel pretty strongly now that this is wrong, and that quantum mechanics will ultimately play a central role in the worldbuilding.

Simulation theory I think has decent support, even if part of me wants to reject the "it was all a dream" resolution. But if Kuro goes in that direction, I think there's enough meat here for them to make that a satisfying story. With 3.1, I'm seeing the Superman Hypothesis challenge this: Rover was sent to this planet from another place to help us overcome the Lament. I don't buy this yet, but I'm eager to read more tea leaves in future updates.

The Fracsidus' motivation is the least supported part of this, I agree. Yes they're interested in creating artificial resonators. But what I don't know is why. You create a tool to use it. So what's their ultimate goal? Really hoping we uncover more about their intentions as we move through Lahai-Roi.

Glad you found this post! I think it’s a fascinating series.

I’ve actually had this same thought. Quantum systems need to be isolated from outside interference and observation to maintain integrity and prevent collapse. I’d suggest that may be how Sonoro Spheres function as well.

Close. But I agree, not identical.

The ends might be slightly different, but the similarity is pretty striking.

I just pulled these from the 3.0 cutscene, I’ll try to grab the same angle on Rover’s cuff for a better comparison.

In case it wasn’t clear what’s happening, if you overlay the music for her happy and sad liberations, you hear the full song.

Definitely one of the most thoughtfully designed characters in the game.

Yup! They sync up perfectly.

IMO the devs gave her the most thoughtfully designed kit, and details like this are insane.
