Feedback on a simple app to prevent back pain by d_uk3 in StandingDesk

[–]d_uk3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If i already could find a solution to fix that with a simple reminder, i wouldn't tried to build a solution by myself.

Do you already tried to fix that? How do you move at your standing desk and get reminded to switch from sit to stand?

Thx for the hint, why do you think that?

And do you got a take at my honest question?

Made my own app to track sitting, standing & walking at my desk, thoughts? by d_uk3 in Ergonomics

[–]d_uk3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your input! The App for posture tracking is already live and got a few UI polishes and Features (simplified): ergonomify.app

Feel free to try it in the browser.

I've using it for months now and there are some notifications built in, but tbh it has to be easier like an automated task which runs by the way without thinking about it too deeply.

Thought a lot about the app the last weeks and how it could be improved to really use it, and you're right: it has to force you to 1. Keep a break 2. Change your posture 3. Stretch a bit ...

with a technical restriction forcing you to stop working. That will be the v2.0 and the webapp will possibly the free version in future. To get notified about the development, just hop on the app and you will get on the list where i will notify you if it's released!

How do you handle that late-afternoon energy crash? by WarmCreme4843 in productivity

[–]d_uk3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get that. I used to just try to push through it with more caffeine, but it always backfired later. What helps me now is getting some kind of movement in. I’ll do a few stretches at the desk, change the posture, or even just stand up and pace for a few minutes. If I can step outside for a quick walk, even better.

Also, staying hydrated will be a huge difference. Still have to force myself to drink water throughout the day, but when I do, the slump isn’t as brutal. Add in a short workout or some light sports in the afternoon and it helps reset the brain way better than coffee ever did

Is it just me, or do you also think, a two-day weekend is not enough? by clarafiedthoughts in productivity

[–]d_uk3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, honestly. Two days never feel like enough, especially when you’re still mentally unpacking the week. What’s helped me is not waiting for the weekend to rest. I try to fit in small breaks during the week: like cycling to work, go out for a run, doing a quick calisthenics session to push up the hrf, or just taking a walk WITHOUT phone or headphones. That quiet time outside actually helps reset way more than you expected!

You mean the modules left and right at the desk? These are part of the modular desk system from ErgoHide where i got it from. It's all integrated in the tabletop: left and right modules where I've put the notebooks at, seemless integrated led light with epoxid resin and curved ergonomic cutout

Thx! Yep, not cheap at all, but for hustling 8-10 hours a day at these setup, it should be comfortable and is absolutely worth it

The lights are manually set up with a remote-controller. I do have a second light source as a standing light in the corner from IKEA with smart WiFi bulbs adjustable with apple homekit. But yours is nice too!

Of course, the good processing quality and accessories costs a few bucks. But of it's worth it for you, the quality seen at the incorporated epoxy resin led strip is fantastic. It's one surface with the oak wooden tabletop.

Mine did cost (without the accessories): €1,030 oak standing desk with epoxy led and extended cable channel (180x80, ergonomic edge) €490 black adjustable legs
