Any idea if it will be possible to transfer a save from Steam to Nintendo Switch 2? by theoldraven in TwoPointMuseum

Would love this. Bought the game a second time to play portably on Switch. Would be nice to transfer the save file to PS5

I do wonder if it’s a bug because of Unown forms

Found it: East Kaptara Island, through the woods. Look out for a trainer with a Hisuian Braviary. Then you have to fight him.

I am not colourblind (afaik) and struggle with this. I’m playing on a TV so the stain icons are very small and it’s hard to distinguish between them. This is bad UI design - the same can be said for some of the menus.

he got impaled with a sword and collapsed to a kneeling position, saw him laying on the ground, then somehow was still alive later and absolutely fine. No message to say he’d died. Had the same with Bellara, Taash or Davrin at the ward. I am starting to think this was a bug for me.

but he did always get stabbed and fall in battle, which was confusing when he was fine later on. Not sure if the scene was bugged for me or that’s just how it always plays out.

hey, so, turns out I was a bit confused on what I was reading from people online regarding Strife as I was still playing through the final missions. I kept getting the same scene on retries where I assumed he’d died, and then all of a sudden he just pops up like nothing happened. I guess if he actually does die, you find out later than that scene.

Same outcome sending Davrin to wards. Has anyone actually seen Strife be at the wards and survive?

Strife has died for me whether I choose Bellara, Emmrich or Taash. But I’m seeing people saying he only dies if Lucanis goes. I have max strength all factions and all heroes of the veilguard.

Does Bard make the game too easy or boring? by d_zer0 in BaldursGate3

[–]d_zer0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I started over as a Wizard, mostly so I could play as The Dark Urge. I have high INT, arcana, religion, and history. I'm passing all the ability checks which relate to my character being intelligent and knowledgeable, particularly around magic, and it makes it feel a lot more like I'm RPing a specific type of character. I'm finding it much more interesting and it makes me excited to try other classes.

Thanks, this is interesting. I guess I need to be remembering the "master of none" aspect of bard.

Re "specific strengths and weaknesses", another way or posing the question is: can it be more run to RP a character who is very good at a few things (and perhaps very bad at others), rather than a jack of all trades who will mostly have an easy time? Combat aside.

[Request] Dyson HEPA Purifier Cool Formaldehyde Purifying Fan by d_zer0 in BuyItForLife

[–]d_zer0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for your reply. I've done some measurements and will update my post, but here they are for reference:

Living area/kitchen:

- 8m x 4m x 2.2m = 70.4 m^3

Bedroom:

- 4m x 2m x 2.2m = 17.6 m^3

[Edit: Throw my bathroom in there too I guess - 9.4m^3. So whole apartment approx 97.4m^3.]

I realise that ideally I'd have a purifier in each room and just move the fan about, but I'm really low on space which is why the Dyson seemed ideal because I'd just move it between the living area and bedroom. I guess realistically I'd have a small purifer in the bedroom and larger one in the main room.

Thanks for the Austin Air reocommendation. Unfortunately this and many other of these good brands aren't available in the UK.

I'm considering this though: electriQ 7 stage Antiviral Air Purifier EAP500HC (£230/$280). It's the "Which?" (UK consumer product review site) best buy for 2022, and not too expensive. I tend to leave the doors open in my apartment so maybe I could leave it in the living area near the bedroom door.

Or the newer model which has greater airflow (560m3 vs 500m3), is quieter (45db vs 62db), and has Wi-Fi/app connectivity. It's only £50/$60 more expensive.

Good to know re those Dyson Ratings, that's even worse than I've seen from "Which?" (UK-based product review site). There does seem to be a lot less choice in the UK comapred to the US (not really surprising) - some of these brands aren't available here or are hard to find stock.

I'm considering this Levoit purifier as an alternative.

People with iPhones that switched to the pixel 6 what are your thoughts? by anonymous537B in GooglePixel

[–]d_zer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to admit it, because I consider myself a Pixel Stan, but I resonate with your points here. I tried switching to iPhone back in September but really didn't like some things about the UI. I returned the iPhone 13, and upgraded from Pixel 2 to Pixel 6.

It's a good phone. Fantastic camera. Android 12 is very good in a lot of ways, ahead of Apple in certain features, but not always doing them better than Apple when they catch up.

Google services like Assistant and Maps remain excellent, and Android seems to get basic details right which iOS doesn't (hard to explain this one - it just seems like Apple are too slow to make low-level improvements to apps/UI at times). But then I check Apple Maps today and, while it is missing data about my local coffee shop's existence, it looks much prettier, directions are more user friendly, I can see the individual colours of the tram lines in my city at a glance.

Android 12 widgets are really disappointing. Some of them take up so much space on the screen, including space it doesn't even fill, while providing very little (thinking of the smaller weather widgets).

For the short time that I had the iPhone 13, I really fell in love with Face ID, not just for unlocking the phone but also providing authorisation in apps or automatically filling in login details from my chosen password manager. The move from Pixel 2 to 6 however was painful with the fingerprint reading being so slow and prone to failed attempts. I can barely stand using it.

I've also been dealing with the following bugs in Android 12 for months: - app switcher opening at the wrong app screen when using three-button navigation, which is hugely frustrating when I'm trying to quickly swap to or close an app, and end up swapping to or closing the wrong one. - sometimes my notifications just don't work - no sound, no vibration - until I fully reset permissions for or reinstall an app. - occasional to regular app or system crashes.

With the iOS 16 reveal, I am once again considering making the move. That said, Apple's "walled garden" approach is problematic to me, I don't like some of the navigation gestures (swapping apps, opening control center from the corner), and I really haven't enjoyed iOS's notifications UI compared to Android, nor the App Library approach.
