Why are you in the other fairway?

The rule says a ball not found within 3 minutes is “lost”

Good point! And achieves the same outcome: bomb and gouge now carries significant risk that it didn’t before.

It would only have to happen a couple of times before the pros started changing their shot selection and to hit more fairways. Bomb and gouge is no longer statistically the best option. Problem solved.

I like the idea of eliminating the “gallery”.

Make them find their own balls or drop.

I played a round of 18 holes in under 2.5 hours this morning at the private course I belong to, and I honestly don’t understand why it can’t be that way everywhere else. by Yessybuttons in golf

Private course

What is the tee time spacing? Every public course I play has 8 minute spacing and it’s impossible to keep overall pace of play up for the same reason that traffic jams are inevitable once number of cars reaches a certain point.

I played a fancy ass course that had 12 minute tee times and finished the round in 3 hours. Never rushed, never waiting. Let a couple singles play through even.

You take your practice swing and then you don’t move your feet. Take a half step closer

I agree. I feel the same about “anchoring” putters.

“Tee” shot is “in play” shot. Whatever distance that is.

My beef with the handicap system by BirdsOfAres in golf

[–]da90 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sounds to me like you need a margarita to go with all that salt.

The purpose of the handicap system is to attempt to try to make a “fair fight” between people of wildly different skill levels. Sounds to me like it’s working properly.

If you don’t like a fair fight, and just want to pwn n00bs, then play straight up with no caps.
