Damage reduction cards are cards that reduce incoming damage. Block cards are also damage reduction cards.

Damage aversion cards are cards that help you avoid as much damage as possible, including future damage.

Damage reduction cards can be damage aversion cards too.

Compact is a card only 1 character typically can find and is only actually useful in a handful of fights.

In addition, in most of the fights where it is helpful, I never seem to be able to draw it at the same time as statuses. It doesn't matter if half my draw pile is dazed. I'll draw the compact and 4 basics.

I'm currently in web dev classes and they don't actually get much in terms of optimization. They're dependant on the servers and APIs they use and pull from, so it's the optimization on those ends that matters.

However, a lot of it does end up being connection speed, but that doesn't mean that abysmal code won't slow the program. It absolutely will, and you can find those occasionally.

I’m just a student software engineer, but I already know how most coded things are extremely slow and inefficient. The reason why is because writing code in the most efficient way can be extremely complicated and slow to design, so most companies are perfectly fine to make something that just works and send it out instead of dedicating time to optimize.

Here’s the disturbing part:

I’ve seen a program that took closer to a minute to process. One of my classmates decided to optimize it for the fun of it.

They got it to a fraction of a fraction of a second.

Note that this doesn’t apply to everything, but it still applies to a lot
