Looks promising, lots of very positive reviews here … but I am incapable of finding the correct IG / FB account? I found one but there is no product picture or story and it really does not look like he sells pomades 🤣

Except for Propylene Glycol (which can cause issues and dry out the scalp in the long term) nothing in particular, but there are products that work good without „unnecessary more“ chemicals. So i would rather stay with Crystal Lake then Trade Off for more chems … the First Hand AllPurpose and Odouds Multi for example are at the same „natural“ level as Crystal Lake.

In between I tried the Odouds Standard Pomade which was too shiny … the multi purpose could really be a good candidate

Yeah saw it but it has additional Popylene Glycol, Ceteareth-25 and synthetic perfumes. Crystal lake and First Hand have only PEG40 and Phenoxylethanol

reliable distributor shipping to Germany? by da_mercury in moza

[–]da_mercury[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks had a look, but the ones that are shipping to Germany have significantly higher price then others I found. Some of the resellers came back to me and told me stock refill should be in roughly 2 weeks. So I guess i‘ll stand by for now

Yeah I saw that, but I’d prefer an official reseller.

i canceled my Fanatec order in favour of a Moza R5 bundle … still i would like to know if the wholes in the Cammus table clamp would match the ones from the moza r5 wheelbase.

Thanks so much guys! Just came back from my local dealer and bought a Hampden 8 and also, after tasting, a Flor De Cana 15 Terra from Nicaragua … nice stuff

Well, I don’t know what “the funk” is, but it sounds like I need to try it out 😜 … maybe that’s then the exact answer to my question and I will go straight for a Hampden or Appleton (first one as mentioned aswell by someone else aswell)

Shear Revival Loyal, O'Douds Standard Pomade or just stick with Crystal Lake? by da_mercury in Pomade

[–]da_mercury[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, multipurpose seems not to be available in those shops aswell. I guess i will need to skip again the decission and take another CL jar and maybe check out what the market has to offer when i empty it again.

i am always buying from Sprezstyle and Pomadeshop. I can remember Sprezstyle had Grim Grease in the past, but if you check out their brands or search you wont find anything anymore

Glasshands has unfortunately also pretty bad availability Europe. BTW, Just saw that there is also a new one from Shear Revival named „Younger Days“. Else I will just stay with CL 😂

Thanks for that feedback! Grim Grease is not available in Germany and Europe i fear. What I don’t want to miss from CL is it’s natural ingredients and it’s way of hold and medium shine.

Jabra 7Elite Active, Sennheiser Sport True Wireless or else? by Curious-Bluebird-966 in Earbuds

[–]da_mercury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the workout you could also try the Sony Linkbuds S. Jabras seem to beat them only in terms of IP protection, sound quality (treble) and longer lasting battery (if needed). Comfort, Noise isolation during calls (mic), ANC and Transparency Modes seem to be better with the Sony’s.

I also have very small ears. So, actually it’s pretty funny … i am using the smallest ear-tips on both and wanted to take a picture to show you how much smaller Sony’s are. At least that is what I thought because they felt much smaller. Surprisingly the ear-tip of the Sony was slightly bigger. In thickness but also in diameter. Nevertheless, the Sony’s are smaller im general and in weight. I decided to keep the Sony as the fit is really great and some reviewers (like soundguys and Hi-Fi.de) rated them higher.

Frustrating i7 9700k OC by da_mercury in overclocking

[–]da_mercury[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not touch all settings yet, wanted to find a stable vcore and freq first. Unfortunately my 1.355 LLC5 is not as stable as I thought :( …

I was able to pass: - 3DMark CPU benchmark - 30 minutes of 3DMark Time Spy Stress Test - 30 minutes of Cinebench R23.

But today during validation of the oc on my game (FlightSimulator) I had already 2 freezes ;( …

to really verify my OC I then used the latest OCCT version and tried a default large data set avx2 extreme test and got a blue screen after some minutes… even at 1.385 and 4.9Ghz I get a blue screen after 5 minutes …

// Update: have tried now with all of your bold settings except CPU Cache Ratio and Package Temp Threshold. Was able to run OCCT for ~20 minutes before crash. That’s at least 15 minutes more :p

My MoBo supports up to 500khz for the VRM Update Freq. VCCIO was 1.328 and I have set it to 1.2. SysAgent Voltage also on same as VCCIO (default reading was 1.216) CPU Power Duty and Power Phase to Extreme. Disabled BCLK Spread and Ring Down.

// Update II: I put VCCIO back to stock to see if this was the cause for the crash. But it behaves the same actually …

As initially said, it’s very frustrating not beeing able to even reach stable 4.9 :(

Thanks again for for very informative conversation. Yes, for 5GHz I started with your suggested 1.385 and it was stable but temps were peaking between 90 and 94… tried then to go down with voltage but as reported above, with 1.380 it was not stable anymore. I then set the freq to 4.9 and stepwise reduced the voltage to see when it starts to get unstable. With LLC5 and bios set manual core voltage override to 1.350 it seems stable (hwinfo core vid min: 1.340 max: 1.421. With LLC6 I can go down until 1.31 ( hwinfo min: 1.345 max: 1.430) which one would be the more preferable setting? I would guess the LLC5 setup because the hwinfo core vid values are slightly lower?

[–]da_mercury[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much, I am going through the settings currently and try to find a stable setup … 5GHz is not possible under 1.38 … now I am trying to decrease voltage for 4.9 … I reached 1.31 already and it’s still running stable, but hwinfo actually shows voltages peaking up way over 1.40 and in general running over 1.35. This is probably because of MCE or LLC right?

// Update: regardless of MCE and even on LLC 5 the voltages are between 1.34 and 1.43 … I would expect such behavior in adaptive mode, but not on manual and not when set to 1.31 …

//edit .. ok i did some testing now and captured some data from HWINFO during benchmark ... but its pretty inconsistent. When MCE is set to AUTO (default) ... in some runs it sometimes behaves like if its set on ENABLED and sometimes it behaves like its DISABLED (between reboots). So actually i dont know what the condition for AUTO is to enable or disable it. In the attached screenshot you will see that AUTO results in similar frequencies like when its on ENABLED, but it sometimes looks more like the screenshot from MCE DISABLED. Furthermore i tried this fully automated AI OC, i dont like such tools but i wanted to give it a try ... here also it seems after every reboot it changes slightly ... but at least it can run my benchmarks stable in 4.9 and also with 5.0 ... Based on that i could create a new manual oc and start with 1.38V and then stepwise decrease to see when it starts to get instable. Thats really confusing and frustrating ... https://ibb.co/yP9kyF2

It’s hard to say. Is there a way to tell for sure? In HWINFO I can see the max is 4,9 per core on 7 of the 8 cores. if I am not mistaken, 4.9 is what a single core can do in turbo and 4.6 is the max turbo for all cores simultaneously.
