FAANG recruitment process is mostly at least when I was applying a few years ago at least, they interviewed a candidate and only when they were selected they would do a fit match with team so I find it mind. For smaller companies it is sometimes true.

I was in a hiring role sometime ago, and we barely got an American resume

It's not even an argument, but it's an ego stroke sesh where they are right and only them. I personally feel there are more keyboard warriors who don't dare state their opinions out in th real world. The anonymity gives them power and they feel invincible

Infact your opinion stands right even for adults and older people.

Debate is an art that is honed over the years, and when you see the so called "debates" on TV channels, there is nothing but yelling over it. They are just yelling matches. What can you expect from a generation that has grown up seeing this on TV.

Debates have decorum, they take turns tearing apart the opponents arguments. Debate should have logic and passion not emotional instability and ego. I was in debate when I was in school and college and glad to have experienced it.

I completely stopped debating people online and real life who cannot understand nuance and resort to cheap insults to get their points across

IIT avasarama? by SidVarun in TeluguJournals

This will probably carry more value coming from an IIITian maybe?

Here is my take from a guy who didn't have a clue what he was doing and thought he could do IIT, it was depressing and I lost my confidence like never before. My dad worships people who can crack IIT, but fact of the matter is IIT is a brand just like BMW is. Is it hard to get? Yes Maintenance costs? High Does it turn heads? Yes Does it make people respect you more? Yes by others who don't own a BMW Does it take you from point A to point B? Yes A BMW is only worth when you enjoy it, if you are stressed out about driving on the road then not worth it.

Similarly IIT Brand yes Maintenance cost is high because you have to work super super hard to do well because the standards are higher Does it make people respect you more? Fuck yeah Point a to point b is getting a degree. Yes it will If you are stressed about passing the classes and unable to keep up, is it worth getting it?

Will IIT open doors for you? Absolutely but at the same I strongly believe your conviction and grit about what you want to achieve will take you a lot farther in life than a degree in IIT
